Very quiet room, and very comfortable bed, and pillow. I could sleep very well. Breakfast was small, but it was enough. Self check-in was perfect, because I could only come late at night.

Owner run hands on . Great hotel well situated. Friendly staff. A great find for us clise to station and all the spots.
A very pretty town, with lovely crisp fresh air. Fabulous selection of shops from fashion to food. Friendly and welcoming cafes and restaurants. Particularly like the pretty main square. Overall a feeling of safety and cleanliness.

Great wee town.
Great wee town. The centre was beautiful, as were the surrounding views. We ate at a local wee German restaurant and they seemed surprised we never booked! getting around Brig was easy...just walk, it's not that big. We would have loved to have explored distant villages, but we had no personal transport. We'd come back and explore more.

Brig is a central town within the Rhone valley.
Brig is a central town within the Rhone valley. It represents a train junction both east to west and north to south allowing access to the cities of Bern & Milan. The town is quite and has a few shops and restaurants which only stay open for a short time in the evening. The centre of the town is car free so peaceful to walk around at night. Brig offers transport links by both bus and train to many of the ski resorts in the area. Be aware that travel by train to Zermatt to see the Matterhorn cost 150CF for two people. Drinks & food are expensive in the town but it is safe and pleasant to walk around. There are numerous walks along the river and into the hillside.

Good location in Switzerland, with direct trains from Zürich...
Good location in Switzerland, with direct trains from Zürich and Geneva airports and Basel SBB station (a bus goes from Basel airport to Basel SBB), just over an hour by train from Berne. Good hiking opportunities, for example from nearby Naters up to Blatten and further up to Belalp.

Honestly, there isn't much to do here.
Honestly, there isn't much to do here. I stayed here because it's where the Glacier Express ended. I would not recommend it at a destination but if you need a place to spend the night in this area, it is fine.

Not much in Brig apart from the Stockalper.
Not much in Brig apart from the Stockalper. But it has a small and attractive old town centre, amazing views up to the mountains if weather is clear and, primarily, this is a very good place as a base for travelling by train to other parts of Switzerland on day trips and likewise it is only 30 minutes by train from Italy.
Exceptional value for money in Switzerland
Excellent communication re self check in.
I was lucky enough to be given such a lovely room with a balcony and view of the castle. Such a wonderful location. Easy walk from train
Very clean room. Lovely bed linen and comfy mattress.
Coffee machine appreciated. Breakfast included. Good choice of fresh fruit. Some seeds and nuts
Highly recommend
Nice central location less than 10 minutes from the train station and right around the corner from the central plaza. Not luxurious but clean and quite comfortable. Check in was extremely well-organized. Cleaning every day around 9, super efficient. Hotel seems to cater to tour groups but they were never in the way. Breakfast was good with a decent range of options, in the Swiss style.
We spent 3 days in Brig to go for some treks in the nearby region and this was a great find! Minimal but spacious room (much bigger than all of our stays in Switzerland). Theres a small guide giving all the information about the guesthouse. We even managed to do laundry (at a super minimal cost of 1 euro per wash). Bonus is the garden overlooking a castle. Highly recommend!
Nice room - spacious, large tub, plenty of room to sort luggage. Bed was comfy. Breakfast was good. Location was great - next to old castle in the old part of town. We sat in the old plaza in front of the hotel to have a glass of wine and people watch. The owner was very welcoming - nice to talk with him. Short walk to the train station.
The great breakfast buffet (7am-10am) is a perfect match to start a day hiking or mountain biking. The guesthouse is centrally located in Brig - restaurants, stores, train and bus station are all within walking distance. The guesthouse is next to the beautiful parc of the Stockalper Palace - makes a great stroll, ice-cream break, etc.
Almost everything. The staff, bed, veranda, scenic view.. Best of all, the spontaneous support of my friend from the hotel in giving us a lift to catch a train to Interlaken with his own car once the public transport was not available in the time required and that to on a holiday! Love & Respect!
Beautiful 2nd floor spacious 3 bed room apartment.
Panoramic view of mountains all round. Stunning location.
Very clean and well maintained property.
10 min bus journey(No 3) from Brig train station. Bus stop right in front of the house. Very handy.
Balcony with view of sunset.
Perfect breakfast with a wonderful host.
Location was so convenient for the train - right across the street.
The owner was very friendly and gave us great suggestions for dinner options. Would definitely stay there again if I am in Brig or the area for skiing.
Breakfast was quite good, but some mornings short of choices. Location was also good, but not enough to do and see in Brig to warrant 3 nights. Also evening meals were very expensive, so we did not eat at the hotel. Staff were very good and friendly.
Service and check-in was great, breakfast was very nice with cereals, variation of breads, eggs, cheese and meat, nice coffee from the machine and different fruits such as pineapple, etc. Parking in front of the hotel was perfect.
Very relaxing old fashioned hotel. Nothing spectacular, but I slept very well. Advice : pick 3rd floor if you can : quiet and great view. Good breakfast included. Also, good parking ground in front.
Great value hotel, right opposite the bahnhof. Comfortable chairs - two of them - in the rooms, which were spacious. Pleasant and helpful staff. Juliette balcony to check out the street and view.
We had a balcony on the fourth floor. And we spent a lot of time there to watch the world go by. That little balcony, if nothing else, is where we are going to leave our hearts in Switzerland.
The second time I spent here. Five minutes walk from the train station, through shops and restaurants. Located at the center of the south part of Brig, it's very close to pharmacies and Coop.
