Fairytale, romantic hotel. Everything was fabulous including the food. The staff were wonderful. Everywhere you look is a feast for the senses, the views, the architecture, the art on the walls, the lake, the waterfall, the little funicular train traveling up and down the mountain, the ships on the lake... wow. The hotel atmosphere is relaxed and we were made to feel very much at home.kathleenSwitzerland

The location above beautiful Lake Brienz is stunning. The old funicular down to the lake is a must. Not to mention observing the fast and full flowing waterfall. The rooms were large and delightfully furnished for the bygone era. As were the public sitting rooms. The restaurant was excellent. We only wish we could have stayed longer. It is a very popular location - book early and plan a minimum of a 2 night stay.

Special thanks to the Chef for the mini birthday cake :-) We had a beautiful room in one of towers with the view both to the Lake Brienz and Giesbachfall. Bathroom was impressive as well. Coffee, tea, jus and water at your disposal at the third floor. I was really pleased with the requirement of an appropriate outfit in the hotel restaurant.
