Conveniently on road to Simplon Pass, interesting old fortress. Parking available underground. Very clean. Pleasant staff. Waterfall nearby was surprisingly loud but traffic overnight was minimal.

Breakfast was plentiful. if unspectacular. Location is superb - on the slopes and just off the main street. Upgraded from a single to a double room with balcony, which was very welcome.

Many different activities even fishing. and the peace and quiet besides the history of the place. Ancient contraband paths over the swiss alps to Italy. during a 7 hours hike we just saw 2 other persons hiking on a saturday. it was beatiful lots of animals were seen.
A unique location high in the gorge which leads to the Simplon Pass. It's an ancient castle which has been repurposed as a traveller's hotel. The rooms are clean and modern with all the facilities you would expect. There is a bar and restaurant. There's also a museum explaining the history of the village which includes gold mining in tunnels deep inside the mountain.
All was excellent, from staff working at hotel, to facilities/location, to the superb dinner menu offered by the young chef and his team. The Simplon area is an excellent place for hiking both in winter and summer. So much history in the place and within the walls of the historic building where the hotel is. Thanks so much for all!
This is your one and only chance to spend the night in a gold museum! :) Restaurant in the hotel has very delicious menu, we ate there several evenings. Also the staff was very friendly and also helped to organize gold mine tour, which was very awesome. Room was spacious and the building has very long history.
Friendly location at a very special place. Very good restaurant with nice selection of Italian wines. The hotel in a building from the 17th century is a special place and seminar location. It offers double rooms and dormitories.
