Stay here for a week if you can! We are crushed that our visit was so short. The hosts are the friendliest, nicest folks we've ever met. They were there to welcome us with mint tea when we drove up, and spent ages walking us through all the amenities of their wonderful apartment and community. They look after even the smallest detail -- they even closed the blinds on one of the windows so the chocolate the put on the bed didn't melt! They pointed us to the best spots to go for mountain views (the local reservoir) and country-road running (with possible 3k, 4.5k and 6k routes drawn on a color-coded map) and answered every question we could come up with. The room itself is tremendous -- a freestanding one-room structure tucked into the garden below their house. It's super private, but has views of the hills, fields and mountains beyond.

The Holiday Inn Bern-Westside is located in the new district of Bern-Brünnen, just an 8-minute train ride from the Bern Main Station. All rooms are air-conditioned and offer free WiFi.

I liked everything about the hotel, but the hosts Marcel and Monika are really nice people. They were always helpful and willing to give us tips on interesting places to visit. Even after we left the hotel I received messages from them with good information about Lucerne, which was the next city we visited.

Good room & good dinner: The restaurant has a good qualiry of ingredients, and also a good propose of Italian Pizza, actully really not bad! Also a good point, shall be done to the parking, very usefull and next to the hotel entry.

The staff was really kind and caring. The village is really gorgeous, and it is quite close to Interlaken if you want to spend the day there.

Hotel Sonne is at the heart of the Voralpen region and just a 30-minute train journey from Bern. Schwarzenburg Train Station is a 10-minute walk away and all rooms have bathrooms.

My bill has been paid twice. Once on booking.com when I booked the room, and once at the hotel. I complained about this and asked for compensation. I asked for one of the payments to be refunded. I did not receive any substantial response. I did not get my money back.
