A beacon of 21st-century China, Shanghai is modernising at an electrifying rate. Nowhere is this more evident than the skyscraper-punctuated Pudong commercial district. The most distinct - the Oriental Pearl Tower - has a ball at the top and bottom and offers fabulous city views. A number of towers also twist as they go up – a feat of contemporary engineering.
This side of the city also houses Shanghai Pudong International Airport, while Shanghai Hongqiao Airport is over the Huangpu River in the Puxi district. An area of older and less dominating buildings, Puxi features the elegant Bund area whose varied architecture includes a surprising array of Art Deco.
With a choice of shopping centres and small shops beneath brightly lit neon signs just like Chinatowns across the world, Shanghai shopping is fantastic.
Other must-see Shanghai attractions include the wonderful Shanghai Museum and the Jade Buddha Temple. For a break from the hustle and bustle head to the Yuyuan Gardens, the beach or peaceful Zhujiajiao Water Town in the west.
Whether you choose one of the Shanghai hotels, apartments or hostels, take time to go to a tea house, a Chinese institution. Also worth sampling are Shanghai hairy crab, steamed dumplings and the freshwater fish so popular with locals.

Buzzing city, hyper modern and a lot of things to do and see. Also nice restaurants. And most important; very friendly people. Say 'Hello' or give a smile and you'll get a warm hello or smile back. Shanghai has two faces, the one in the daytime and the one in the nighttime when all building are enchantingly lit (The Bund).

Shanghai, a vibrant metropolis, seamlessly blends its rich history with modernity. Take a leisurely stroll along the Bund, an iconic waterfront promenade to witness the city's past reflected in its stunning colonial-era buildings.
The city's abundant greenery adds to its charm, with beautiful tree-lined streets and blooming flowers everywhere.
For vegan travelers, Shanghai offers a wide range of diverse and delicious food options to indulge in.
Getting around is effortless with its excellent train system. The Didi taxi hire service in Shanghai is fast & efficient. Don't forget to download Alipay for cashless transactions, simplifying your experiences in China.

Shanghai is a city to feel and live.
Shanghai is a city to feel and live. Sure there are more than enough museums to keep you entertained for a week or more, but the best part for me was the life and the community feeling that i saw all around.
There is always stuff going on and people walking around.
There are tons of nice places to eat at and the coffee scene is second to none.
The metro in Shanghai makes it possible to go almost anywhere you want for a super cheap price. The times we were lazy and decided to take a taxi we ended up taking longer time to reach our destination.
The bed was very comfortable, Staff was friendly and helpful even they can't speak English very well but they put an effort to try communicate. all staffs were polite and helpful. there was a convenience store nearby in a walking distance from the hotel. the drop off and pick up service at the disneyland was amazing and convenience! I'd highly recommend this hotel for whoever that planning to go to disneyland or whoever that don't want to travel far from the hotel to the Pudong airport
An exceptional stay at The Puli in Shanghai! Perfectly located by JinAn Temple and subway, the hotel offers great convenience. The staff, notably Charlene Yuan, were superb, providing service in fluent Chinese and English. We were pleasantly surprised by an upgrade to a spacious room, complete with modern amenities. The added luxury of fresh fruit in our room was delightful. The breakfast, with a wide variety of fresh, tasty Western options, was a daily treat. Can't wait to return!
As a Shanghainese, this time was my first time staying there. It surprised me. Okura Garden Hotel Shanghai is very famous for its food, butter cookies & service. The room is super clean, detailed and comfortable. If you want to know more about Shanghai, traditional/ modern. it’s definitely among the best hotels in Shanghai. The location is perfect, the metro is nearby. I am super impressed. Also, thank you Miss Li Hua Feng 李化凤(receptionist) for the professional service.
I’ve stayed at 12 Hengshan a few times before it was under the IHG umbrella - it is still the best hotel in Shanghai. The location is great (if you want an authentic Shanghai experience) and the rooms are large and comfortable. I arrived at 10am and they let me check in then! Wow this has never happened before - it saved me from having to kill time before check in of 2pm! Also the reception girls were very helpful with my internet issues!
The Urban Rosa Cafe&Inn is a small boutique hotel in a quiet street in a nice Chinese neighbourhood. The hotel is run by a lovely and hardworking family. They will do their best to make you feel at home. Unfortunately due to the corona crisis their cafe in the lobby had to close down, but they are considering to reopen it. Not your regular 5 star impersonal business hotel, but a home away from home. Highly recommended.
I arrived in the middle of the night and once I got to my room it smelled like cigarette smoke. The next day when the manager was on duty, he changed my room and upgraded me to a suite. Customer service means everything to me and I will most certainly stay at the Indigo Hotel next time I visit Shanghai. The room was amazing and the view was spectacular. Indigo Hotel was located in a very convenient location
the best thing about this hotel is the location. it is very central. it’s walking distance from Bund scenic area and many other touristy places. There’s a mall right across from the hotel and there are a plethora of things to do, and places to eat around the hotel. I love 1930’s old Shanghai concept of the hotel. The staff were extremely accommodating, warm and friendly. check -in was smooth.
The location is very convenient. It’s not far from Pudong airport. On the other hand it is close to a metro station from Line 2 with easy access to the city center and main landmarks of Shanghai, like Bund, etc.
The staff couldn’t speak English, but they are still very helpful. They used an automatic translator to communicate with me, which really worked!
In my experience rarely does a 5 Star hotel exceed expectations. The Waldorf is truly an exceptional hotel and manages to deliver an experience that matches its renowned history. The panoramic river views are second to none, service and food are outstanding and the staff go the extra mile. When we return to Shanghai we will not consider any other hotel.
Breakfast buffet is excellent and also offers some local cuisines. Room service is great. The hotel also offers shuttle services to Disneyland, airports, and the nearest Metro station, which is great if you wish to go to Disneyland or sightseeing in downtown Shanghai. But do make sure to reserve for seats to avoid not being able to get on.
One of the best hotels in Shanghai The price/quality ratio is one of the best in the city. Of course, someone may be bothered by the size of the room. The great spacious modern lobby where you can quietly read, watch TV and have a drink - all complemented by English-speaking staff
Definitely convenient for overnighting either before or after a flight to/from Shanghai Pudong airport. Very convenient airport shuttle every half-hour (shared with Ramada). Rooms are fine; nothing exceptional. One picks it over the partner Ramada mainly for the lower price.
the hotel was great, the location is exceptional. the rooms are nice and better than any hotel in Shanghai. both lyna and lydia at the reception were very helpful and they did all they can to please us and make our stay as best as it could
Everything, the best hotel we had in China. Clean, spacious, well designed rooms, friendly staff. I would recommend it to everyone who are interested in visiting the parks in the area or want to be close to the airport.
I love this hotel. The rooms are very large and clean. The room feels like an executive room and it feels very comfortable. I come to Shanghai often and stay here every time.
One of the best locations. This hotel was the first five star hotel in mainland China. The finish is a bit old but still pretty good. Loved the swimming pool and squash court
Hotel In the very center of Shanghai. 3 metro lines just beside the hotel, each to go anywhere.
All the staff are very helpful and friendly. Very polite .
