Villa Maria Tayrona, Jungle and Sea Experience, hotel in Los Naranjos

Offering a beach area, outdoor pool, and restaurant, Villa Maria Tayrona, Jungle and Sea Experience is located in Los cocos, 2 km from Piedras River.

Beautiful view from the terrace of our deluxe bungalow, in the middle of nature with sea view, very quiet, comfortable bed, mosquito nets on the windows, fridge and bathrobes in the room, the pool is not big but great, the food was good but lacked spices, great staff (special thanks to Juan, Camilo and the kitchen staff), from the nice restaurant you can watch hummingbirds and even monkeys. It's a great place to slow down and relax. A few small shops and restaurants are within walking distance, it's also nice to walk along the beach to Mendihuaca, and you can easily take the public bus to Tayrona National Park or Palomino. We stayed six nights and didn't want to leave.

The Journey Hostel, hotel in Los Naranjos

Situated in Los Naranjos, 1.5 km from Los Naranjos Beach, The Journey Hostel features accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant.

The view and pool were stunning. We also joined for the shared food as well as a breakfast and lunch. All were tasty and very filling, and also had healthy options. The hostel had a nice social vibe and the communal dinners encouraged us to chat to other guests which was nice. They were incredibly kind and allowed us to use their facilities after we’d checked out so we were able to shower after visiting Tayrona before our flight.

Exceptional location, right at the junction between the sea and the river. Our room was incredible... literally above the waves crashing with an open concept and a Mosquito net around the bed. By far, the best accommodation we had in Colombia! Lovely staff, nice pool, excellent restaurant and breakfast. Very special place. Do not miss it!

Lovely family-run place perched on a hill overlooking the jungle and sea. Really wonderful people. Our daughters loved playing with the animals on site. The food was also very good. How about that view from the pool! And the nearby beach is magical.

The best hostal in Tayrona!!! Great small cozy and confortable hostal in the middle of the nature with great views. The room was spacious with a great bed and a private bathroom, great view to the mountains and quiet in the night. I will definitely be back soon. Delicious coffee and pancakes for breakfast. Proximity to Tayrona really good - El Zaino entrance and walks. Other destinations a longer taxi ride (such as Minca) but all manageable. Property itself is lovely. Immaculate, spacious and a very good food offering. Delightful service. Nice pool and lots of space around to take in diffract views. Only negative is the weak shower pressure (cabana 1). Easy drop down to beach and sea - and very atmospheric bar for sundowners. Pretty much perfect

Liked: Came here in October 2021 and returned mainly because the place is absolutely beautiful. The view is stunning, you're in the middle of nature and wherever you look there are amazing birds or giant trees. Disliked: During our five day stay, the water was cut three times and electricity went out twice (this didn't happen last year). Also, almost every night a noisy water leakage would start under the cabin and the last night there was a hydraulic motor-bomb malfunction nearby, very noisy as well. Every time I called the administration and they responded in good will, sometimes being able to help and sometimes not. But these issues are clearly the result of long-term poor management, and there is only so much the on-site staff can do. Also, the hotel sells the idea of being able to offer good wi-fi: nothing could be further from the truth. Wi-fi is extremely unstable. You can go hours, even days without connection. So this is not a good place to go if you require a stable internet signal. I went with the idea of working remotely and had a negative experience in that department. This said, it wasn't a horrible couple of days, but I'll be looking elsewhere for my next trip.

Los naranjos is a huge place where the jungle merge with the beach, divided by a river that can be crossed wslking when the tide is low, aligators are the puppies of the area and althought they look dangerous they only like to take a sunbath, they are afraid of humans, but dont test this, keep away from them and enjoy, the beach have different walking access, explore them all.

    This was a mixed bag.

This was a mixed bag. On the upside, the restaurant was really fantastic and the view from the deck chairs, overlooking the beach, was just stunning. The room was clean and the restaurant staff were friendly. That said, the photographs of the rooms are misleading, as the rooms are actually really really dark, with just a few dim lamps providing a little bit of light. The “sea view” from the room that is pictured in the snaps is also not really anything. You can barely see the water. When we told the front desk staff that this was not what they were advertising, they said they would "be back to discuss" and then never showed up. Since it was only one night, we decided to just stick it out. Also, at this price, it seems like the hotel could have hot water in the showers. Oh, and our room was next to the kitchen so we were woken up early with noise from the staff, blender, etc.

It was very cool and adventurous stay at Cabana Barlovento. The rooms are open - without windows, directly above the Caribic sea, so you can really feel it and also hear it! The surroundings is really beautiful - there are around 5 hotel buildings in this complex, restaurant, bar and the pool. The beach was also very nice for relax although the waves are mostly big and the streams very strong, so be careful. The food was very tasty and the staff was very friendly. We can recommend this place.

Everything including the room, the food, the views, the staff and the facilities has been amazing. We felt so comfortable and taken care of every single day. We would like to emphasize Angela who was just wonderful and accommodating. Including a daily Spanish lesson. :) We stayed 8 nights at the hotel and we would do it again. We used the transport service from an to the airport, Santa Marta and the Tayrona national park. We didn’t have any problems.

Maria is one of the best hosts we have ever met. She is very kind, too informative and helpful. Her hotel is very clean, comfortable and the location is fantastic as it’s too close to the Tayrona National Park entrance. Thanks to her, she even planned one of our days around the park. Last but not least, the water is provided to the guests for free which is very rare in the entire country. Even this shows me how mindful Maria is.

It's a pretty hotel conveniently located in a beautiful region. The food at the restaurant was amazingly tasty and delicious, the hotel's beach is very nice. Most of the staff is very friendly; I want to highlight Jorgito the young guy from the restaurant who gave us a very warm service all the time and saved me from a sneak. The ladies that serve the breakfast, the bartender and all the waiters are super kind.

The hotel is 3 year old. The woodwork on the structure, tables, sculptures and others is exquisite. Rooms are ample and quiet. If you are looking for a place to distress or a place for honeymoon, this is the one. Don’t look further. The beach is 6 minutes walk. The ocean is rough and not suited for swimming. The food is excellent and the staff is extremely helpful and friendly. 100 points to this hotel.

Breakfast was delicious, location was beautiful and quiet and the pool delightful. Also enjoyed swinging in the hammock inside our suite by the balcony. Nice touch. It was great to be surrounded by lush tropical gardens yet only a short walk to the river and the beach. I loved the rustic charm of this hotel. It was sumptuous and stylish, yet blended easily into its surroundings.

We liked everything about this hotel. First and foremost, the staff are extremely kind and friendly and make you feel right at home. The food was amazing; both breakfast and dinner. The setting is incredible and you will be tempted to just sit by the pool and enjoy the view. The rooms were large and spotless with lots of large windows made of wooden blinds.

The hotel was very clean, the restaurant was very good and fresh but the real highlight was the friendliness of the staff. It is close to the Los Angeles beach (amazing) and less than 10 min buss to Tayrona and to night parties so It was very well located. Isabella Tayrona is quiet in the night and the size of the beds is amazing !
