It was an unforgettable experience walking through nature, seeing the rivers and waterfalls. The variety of birds, the tranquility of being surrounded by so many sounds, breathtaking sunsets. I truly enjoyed the whole experience and place. Will do it again, highly recommended.

Lovely place to see birds, swim in some waterfalls, have some good coffee and chocolate on farms, get some craft beer. Very hot though— stay hydrated and pack sunscreen. I would recommend this place and advise hiking around to enjoy the nature.

    Loved Minca so much.

Loved Minca so much. The town feels very catered to tourists and it was hard to find a cheap, local restaurant with a menu del dia for example but there are lots of good western-ish options and the wildlife/surrounding area is so beautiful. Highly recommend the Cerro Kennedy hike (stay at El Ramo) too.

Minca is a fantastic place to visit to get a sense of the mountainous area of Colombia and its lush and alluring jungle with all the glory of its flora and fauna. Only a short drive from the Santa Marta airport, you find ourself in a little village that is a haven to hikers, motocross bikers, and bird watchers. There are many places to eat with a variety of cuisines and for the most part the food was good. Our favorite activity was birdwatching. We had fantastic outings booked through Jungle Joe. Our guides Tony Martin and Gustavo Viloria were both extremely professional and informed. We loved the La Vittoria Coffee Plantation tucked away in the jungle. Another favorite was Rio Elemento, a hotel/restaurant on the banks of the river with an awesome swing that carries you over the rushing waters.

It is very pretty and I appreciated the access to other types of food since we had been traveling the Colombia for a bit and had been exclusively eating traditional colombian food. You cannot speak about Minca without mentioning the bugs, they are terrible! the worse part is you don’t really see them or know when you are being bit. You just look down and your legs are covered in bites. Also there is a new age spirituality vibe that is strongly felt in the town.

It’s not a party town but it’s beautiful, scenic, has lovely waterfalls! Nice place to wind down after long hikes. Either take mototaxis everywhere is you don’t want to walk or hike! Ask for a helmet!

Beautiful hostel!! You opt in for meals (no common kitchen) but the food was probably the best I’ve had in Colombia, and all vegetarian, which was a pleasant surprise! Great portion sizes and very well priced. Lots of activities around. Awesome view. Fantastic Stay! The hostel is located up on a mountain so it is something to consider when looking to do activities in town (that’s why you get the amazing sunset view). Very easy moto ride to town and lots to do at the hostel so we didn’t really feel the need to leave.

A real slice of heaven in Colombia for relaxing. The view and pool area are just stunning. All the facilities have been very well thought out and the staff are great and very helpful. I slept in two different dorm rooms - the one with bunk beds are in an enclosed room (limited or no windows) and have an en-suite. The one with normal beds (non-bunk beds) are open rooms - so windows with no glass or only mesh and feel more open to nature (bathrooms a short walk away). I liked both options and both were very peaceful.

I love the people who attended in the restaurant, the food was delicious we ate cayeye for breakfast. We didn't swim on the river nearby, but they have a door and an interesting area to rest and take a sunbath. The room was clean and comfortable. I think they could improve the attention in reception, however they were kind to answer our questions and they keep our backpacks while we went to the Marinka waterfall. They don't use plastic straws, instead of that the gave us a glass one. Thank you Hotel Casa de Hadas.

The view was breath taking, the food was the best we had in our two week trip to Colombia. A beautiful remote spot in paradise. Was a wonderful place to be after the craziness of Santa Marta. The sunsets were spectacular. Pilar (the owner) arranged a hike to a waterfall which was beautiful (very steep downhill and mules back). There are obviously mosquitoes or biting insects that did not bother me but loved my youngest adult daughter.

Beautiful property that Pilar, the owner, really cares about. We spent the last days of our Colombia trip here and we are so glad we did. Pilar gave us a room with a mesmerizing view of the scenery with Santa Marta seen from afar. We can hear birds, watch flowers and go on excursions nearby. The meals are prepared with care and beautiful ingredients. I highly recommend her place even if it’s a bit further up. Thank you Pilar 😊

Everything. LOVED this hotel! Perfect location just outside of town, with access to the river. Facilities were well kept and gorgeous, and the room was one of our favourites in Colombia. Sadly we only stayed here one night due to time constraints, but we really wish we had at least 2 more. Also, very grateful for the mosquito net over the bed because we got eaten alive at our last place.

Beautiful setting and amazing panoramic views of the rainforest. Probably the best place we stayed in Colombia. It was faultless. We woke up to humming birds by our window and you could hear and see monkeys and all types of nature from our room. Even the taxi ride, albeit quite expensive at £20, was part of the fun and well worth the money. Its like a theme park ride the journey.

Costeno River has such a great vibe. The staff are so welcoming and always keen to make sure everyone is having a good time. The common area is super social and we made some good friends during our stay. The location is great, above the river and a short walk from Minca town. Big shout out to the kitchen chef, some of the best food we’ve eaten in Colombia!

Breakfast was great as well. Really enjoyed hanging out at Minca Glamping during the day - it’s a great place to just relax.

Gorgeous pool with a great view of the surrounding forest and wildlife. The restaurant had water feeders for the hummingbirds, which meant you could observe the hummingbirds drinking all day. Amazing sunset views, and lots of places around the hotel to relax and chill. Also staff were helpful and friendly.
