We liked the waterfall repelling, spent half a day at the rope swing, major highlight of the trip, didn't spend a lot of time in town, loved the Fortuna waterfall, didn't prefer the free hot springs. Enjoyed the Fortuna waterfall hike BUT beware of the steps…great hike but 500 steps DOWN, then 500 steps BACK UP!😉 beautiful falls and swimming area! Loved our zipline and rappel tour!! (Go Adventures!) And the hot springs across the street afterwards…ALL in the rain!🙃 Loved our hotel Arenal Rabfer! Walkability! Worst: DRIVING, roads, local drivers and scooters! The staff was friendly and helpful. The property was close to the local tours and the busses picked us up for trips to the Arenal volcano and to North Fields Coffee. The view of the volcano from the main lodge area was a treat, and the food was delicious. We would go back again!

La Fortuna was absolutely superb. There was so much to do.
La Fortuna was absolutely superb. There was so much to do. We went for 5 nights, but we could have done double that. We really enjoyed the hot springs, white water rafting, zip linging, mud baths, la fortuna waterfall, chocolate tasting. All were very good. The night walk was a little overrated. We walked for 2 hours getting bitten alive not actually seeing too much. Was cool seeing some frogs but $45 each for the privelage seemed a bit steep. The volcano 1968 tour was also a lot. There was 4 of us so we paid near $100 to only see the Volcano for a few moments at one of the two viewing points. If you're into hiking I would suggest this isn't for you. Costa Ricans themselves were absolutely lovely. Very welcoming and perfect English on the whole (Yes i know i'm ignorant..). However our biggest issue was the cost of everything. We naively expected it to be a lot cheaper than it was. OFten found ourselves spending over $200 for a meal for 4. Also there is a card charge for most places, so take cash if you can. But overall was excellent. The views alone are worth itTimCayman Islands

The rooms are spotless with all the amenities you could need. I loved hanging out in our hammock listening to bird song all around. The staff are also super friendly and accommodating. It is pretty far from La Fortuna so just bear that in mind if you are booking. However we loved the location and the hotel are great about organising transport to and from the lodge. I wish we could’ve stayed longer!

We were so happy we decided to just stay and eat there the first night. Breakfast and bar drinks really good too and prices lower than out in town actually. Will very much stay here again. Pool was great and like a thermal pool- hiked La Fortuna waterfall early before crowds and then decided to just stay on the grounds at hotel and swim and enjoy a whole area to ourselves with the bartender who brought our drinks to the pool.

The whole hotel is Gorgeous; well-kept property, pools, gym, easy access to the restaurants, bar, town etc. We enjoyed the main restaurant and the sushi. The breakfast was great and offered tons of variety. The staff is beyond amazing, the level of customer care is exceptional! Shout out to Julian de la Fortuna, he’s the most entertaining waiter we have ever had. We will be back!
