The almost-cinematic view of foliage and incredible variety of birds (and frogs at night) from the dining area is really special.

Sarapiqui is a busy town, the commercial hub for the local area. We really enjoyed an excellent river trip, the guide was knowledgable and entertaining. We stayed at nearby Selva Verde using our own Hire Car to get around, driving is easy enough although this is a major highway

A stunning adventure with lots of memories.
A stunning adventure with lots of memories. Woke up to howler monkeys chatting in the treetops above my cabin. Great hikes, beautiful views.
Guides are super knowledgeable and enthusiastic to be there.
Something that's extra great? The employees--the guides, the cooks, etc.--all seem genuinely happy. It's clear that they're well taken care of and appreciated!

While there are many Adventure tours available, we opted for the birding activities. We took one guided tour at Tirimbina and one at La Selva. Both provided unique species and I highly recommend taking the extra time to also go to La Selva. Air Conditioning is highly recommended to help you stay comfortable after a day in the heat and humidity, which the region is known for.

We visited Sarapiquí in 2010 and we wanted to return. What we have found (in a period of 10 years), has been a significant increase of tourism and the expansion of the urban areas in the town. Now, there are more people living in Sarapiquí.

People were very friendly .
People were very friendly . Not much English speaking but we got by. We got out into the country with locals and really had a good time. A jungle tour is a must as it is still a lot of raw areas left. Great bird watching. It is not as hot as the beach areas and roads and driving is quite nerve wracking at times.
Amazing and immersive rainforest experience. The forest itself is the true star of the show. The diversity of wildlife is outstanding. It was so special to have the researchers for the guides (you get a free morning tour if you stay there and we paid for a night tour). We saw and learned so much. we stayed for two nights with full board and loved every moment.
Its not a hotel and we really enjoyed that it was something different. We embraced it as a place for learning and enjoyed that everyone was there for the same reason.
Everything was literally outside your front door. We did not have to go on the trails to find any of the animals. They were in the trees surrounding the property. The restaurant was reasonably priced (actually cheap for a hotel) and had something for everyone. The guides were nice and knowledgeable. the hotel staff friendly and helpful. The roofs are made of a material so you really hear the rain which I liked. In the morning you can open your curtains and look outside and you feel like you are in the rainforest because you are.
This place was so beautiful! When we arrived they had fruit "cocktail" drinks for us that were delicious! (and free!)... The staff made us feel like celebrities. The place is gorgeous with Bambu walkways above the ground. You almost feel like you're in a tree house. The staff was super prompt and helpful. The free breakfast was freshly prepared and also delicious. We wished we had booked more nights here!
This was only 20 minutes from the sarapiqui Outdoor Center where we had an amazing time rafting!
We had an amazing stay. The location of the house is perfect, surrounded by nature. Many birds and other animals to see! Wendy and her family are so kind. Breakfast and dinner, made by Rita, tasted really good. Oso the dog showed us the way to a beautiful waterfall and swimming place nearby. Sarapiqui is a nice region, a lot of nature to explore without crowds. Don't hesitate, just book this place. You won't regret it.
Five stars for this beautiful, remote, nature lovers’ paradise nestled next to Braulio GC Carillo National Park near Sarapiquì River. Staff are very friendly, knowledgeable about ecology & passionate about environmental conservation and forest regeneration. Lodgings and food simple, picturesque & wholesome. Daily night walks magical and teeming with life.
A beautiful property with acres of jungle. We took a guided walk one morning on the property and saw lots of great birds as well as monkeys. The staff was extremely helpful. A very short drive to town to a great boat ride on the sarapiqui river. And just a few minute drive to La Selva Biological center for great birding.

The almost-cinematic view of foliage and incredible variety of birds (and frogs at night) from the dining area is really special.
Hotel was exactly as described . An oasis in the rainforest. However what made our stay was the prompt help from staff when i twisted my ankle and they arranged for a doctor. There’s nothing more telling about a place than how they deal with things going wrong. So grateful for every they did .
Beautiful, peaceful location for animal, bird spotting or simply relaxing. Clean, but small pool and trails to walk.
Really helpful receptionist, who went out of her way to take us to see a couple of sloths in the grounds.
Really enjoyed our night at this hotel.
A nice hotel surrounded by a beautiful jungle with opportunities for birdwatching and relaxing. The room was air conditioned and comfortable, the restaurant was attractive with good selections priced reasonably. The staff were kind, courteous and hospitable.
The hotel is so original! The rooms are very beautiful, all made with wood. The location is amazing, surrounded by nature. The panorama is incredible from the roof. The staff is so kind and the food (breakfast and diner) is good. We loved our stay !
Wendy and her family were fantastic hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Sarapiqui 2 to other travellers. Waking up to the sound of Howler Monkeys is something that we will never forget!
The hotel is set in beautiful grounds which includes a 2 mile walk through the forest. The pool area is lovely . The food was very good. The room was spacious and had nice decor.
Beautiful hotel. It was a great place to relax. We walked to the cascades (one was guided) and they are splendid. The food was good and staff was friendly.
