Everything! The location is beautiful, the grounds kept perfectly, the rooms are incredible, the food and drinks excellent and the service was incomparable. The rainforest trails are wonderful and the conservation efforts (at first we were concerned ir was a zoo but all the animals have been rescued) are inspirational. It was ridiculously expensive but worth every penny.

The room was beautiful, with great viewpoints on the property. Breakfast was also really good. There's a really good Mexican restaurant up the street that kept us fed during the day and night.

Very nice staff who gave me two extra blanketts because of the low temperature that night. The bungalow is very simple but good enough for your needs, with fridge and kitchenutensils and coffee for free.

This was my favorite spot I stayed in Costa Rica in 3 weeks of travel! Great to see Poas volcano and Jose was the best host we could ask for!!
Good roads but narrow as usual thru towns. Different landscape with the farms and greenhouses and coffee plantations in rolling hills. Waterfalls.
Loved the drifting clouds coming up the valleys in the evening. Cool evenings and warm days.

We went to La Paz Waterfall gardens and it was an amazing place. You could easily spend an entire day there. Also the area is known for strawberries. We bought some from a roadside stand and they were delicious.

This was a great stopping place for us and is close to La Paz, Poas Volcano, and Doka Coffee Plantation. We stayed here after visiting La Paz Waterfall Gardens (which is worth the cost to visit), and then just had a short drive to Poas the following morning. We only stayed one night, and didn't get to visit the town, but its location is perfect for a stopover while visiting the nearby sites.
The room was nice and clean and also big. The bathroom was small but clean. When we arrived there we expected to see Volcan but the weather conditions didn't allow us but we were never disappointed because the hotel has its hiking path and that was perfect. The hotel location is high and you are going to be with clouds which is nice and magical also the temperature will be decreasing to compare other Costa Rica places. That place is very peaceful and quiet. We did breakfast and dinner at the restaurant and it was very nice.
Great stop on our way from SJO to Arenal (only an hour from the airport - immediate transition into tranquility). The lodge was stunning with so many lovely sitting rooms and views. We were there with our parents and 1.5 year old son and there was a nice play area on the lower level (many stairs and delicate items for a 1.5 year old so little kids definitely require constant attention if you're up for it!). Breakfast and dinner were delicious. Only 15 minutes from La Paz so we got there early and beat the crowds.
Very pleasant highland area stay base with short distances with private car to Poas volcano and La Paz waterfall area. The staff was very pleasant and helpful, some king of personal touch brought to mind old-style country villas in Eastern or Southern Africa - very easy to feel home. Very good birding opportunities on the hotel ground, around the hotel and on the trails. We were sad to leave the place after two nights - it would have been so nice to stay longer.
Probably top 5 hotels in my personal list. Excellent indoor and balcony jacuzzi, properly heated pool, very private territory and special wooden bracelets and the guest name by the door to emphasise the level👌.
The reception guys we very helpful and helped us to purchase Poas Volcano tickets as well as getting some cash. They even got a cake with the candles for the birthday.
The waterfalls garden is just no words. Fantastic trail with a shuttle back.
Loved the views, as it describes, it truly is panoramic! Very spectacular views all around the property. The host, Tomas was exceptional in all aspects; with such warmth, we truly felt at home. He went above and beyond in ensuring our stay was comfortable and even ensured our onwards journey is taken care of, in terms of providing key insights and tips of where to eat, etc for the best experience for our very first Costa Rica trip.
The room was very nice and spacious (2 jacuzzis and a fireplace!) and it was a really nice experience to be inside the park and enjoy it at different times. The hotel is very nice and well located to visit the Poas Volcano (less than half an hour). We also had the chance to feed tucans, sloths and hummingbirds, which was the most amazing experience.
This property is absolutely beautiful. From the moment we walked in, they took such great care of us. Being able to access the animal sanctuary and trails before they were open to the public was so special. Dinner at the onsite restaurant was delicious and the after hours animal feeding was the highlight of our trip to Costa Rica.
Lovely location, with trails around the property. Independent family run hotel. For warmer days there were outdoor facilities (BBQ grill, swimming pool, games). Onsite restaurant was open for dinner and again for breakfast. There was also a fridge in reception with water/soft drinks/milk/snacks for purchase.
The facilities are beyond exceptional and truly exemplify pura vida. They made a beautiful nature trail to a river and waterfall that we’re fun to get into. The family that owns and runs the hotel are all really warm, helpful and inviting.
Great stop off location with beautiful scenery. Room was fantastic with good facilities and balcony to watch the sunset. Staff very friendly and good restaurant at the hotel to have evening meal and breakfast in the morning.
This hotel is amazingly situated with a fantastic view over the forest. The waterfalls are very nice and there is a small zoo as well which is pretty cool -.especially for the kids.
The bathtub on the balcony is great.
Very nice lodge and perfectly located if you want to explore the Poas region. Great breakfast, cute rooms with spectacular view and beautiful garden. Really enjoyed the hotel owned hiking path!
The host was nice and the beds were fairly comfortable. The location for visiting La Paz Waterfall Garden was great. Good for a night... but wouldn't stay for 2!
