We encountered a little trouble with finding the apartment, asked in a local pub and were helped very friendly: "Frank?" by going outside and pointing where Frank's apartment is (at the very far end of the square, close to the bus turning stop). We rang the bell and soon Frank opened the gate. The apartment is downstairs and consists of a cosy kitchen, a cosy living room, a windowless bedroom and a bathroom with toilet and shower. There is a fridge, cooking-stove and a water cooker. In the living room there are lots of electric mains connectors, a TV with Czech channels, a sitting bench and easy chair. All looks very new and clean. The separate beds were excellent. There are shutters for the windows, so one can really have darkness. Across the long-stretched Masaryk square there is an excellent Krusovicka restaurant. By car one can get to Prague within three quarters of an hour. We also visited Lany (where the Czech president has residence) and Kladno (for communist architecture of the Cold War Fifties). The towels were fine, the shower OK, and at night there is quiet. We liked the way the apartment was furnished. The small town Smecno has a castle which has been converted into an old people's home. Beautifully restored!
Offering a seasonal outdoor pool and hot tub, Sport hotel Sletiště is situated in Kladno in the Central Bohemia Region, 24 km from Prague. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar.
Located in the centre of Kladno, just 800 metres from Kladno Castle, this 3-star hotel features a 24-hour reception and various restaurants, bars and shops in its complex.
Featuring garden views, Agropenzion U Bartousku in Malíkovice offers accommodation, a garden, a terrace, a bar, barbecue facilities and a shared lounge.

The Penzion provided a nice breakfast. The place is quiet. Shortly after we left in the morning staff called us immediately to say we had forgotten our phone charger. It was lovely to get the call before we had strayed too far.

Smečno is a small town with a baroque church and an impressive castle (which has been converted into an old people's home - very interesting to see) and a castle park. There is a restaurant with nice Czech pub food (Krusovicka 'at the pillars'). On the square there is a small supermarket and an ice cream seller. Smečno seems quite safe. 8 km away there is Lany with the residential baroque castle of the Czech president. One can visit the green house, chapel and castle park. Recommended! For history buffs there is the grave of president Tomas Garrigue Masaryk and his son Jan Masaryk (who played a key role during the founding of the state of Israel in 1948). For medieval castle lovers there is the castle of Krivoklat at an arrow's distance.
