I love Špindl, excellent place to relax at any time of the year. Village is very cosy, lots of nice accommodations, restaurants, easy to rent the skis or bike. Excellent for hiking, skiing, biking. Of course, not comparable to big ski resorts in the Alps, but small and cosy, almost empty during the working days of the week (if it's not schools'ski vacation). It's not so high in altitude (the top is 1230m), so snow conditions need to be good in order to enjoy the slopes.

Špindlerův mlýn (the town, not talking about surroundings) is an ugly relict of 90's, and I don't see any reason why anyone should go there (Winter or Summer, doesn't matter). Go anywhere else in Krkonose, but for god's sake avoid this ugly town (unless the only thing you care about is skiing).

The city has plenty of activities for all age ranges. We went in September, so no skiing trip. You can rent bikes, kickbikes, electric scooters, take the cable chair to the top of the mountains. There are plenty of bar and restaurants, all sorts of cuisines (saw pizza, pasta, mexican, burgers, grills, fancy and down to earth) There are plenty of easy trails that allow for a buggy, which we took advantage of, since we visited with a 1-year old.Adam*LCzech Republic - 10Scored 10

We love this place, the staff, the cleanest, the design of the room, the near by ski rental place, the closenest to snowtubing activity and their ski lift and the cafe. This time we even understood that there is a streight walking way to the centre and it is really close by. The Hotel has very good with very tasty food restaurant with very kind working staff there. the snooker and bar opened until 22:00.
