Excellent location in the mountains, close to Munich, Garmisch P., Neuschwanstein and other important tourism objects. Everything was clean and comfy, small but nice wellness centre. Very nice staff, worked very hard to make everyone comfortable. Great place to visit with kids - as a family of five we felt very well taken care of and they did everything we asked for.

Absolutely amazing place to stay. Beautiful location surrounded by mountains and a castle nearby. Easy to get to a lot of places by car of course.
The food at the restaurant is especially great.

I loved the location as it very central and walkable to everything around and the hotel also is cute. The view from my room was just out of the world. Loved it. I came here with not much expectation and was surprised with the view. I think it’s great that’s why I’m extending my stay here. I’m just wondering why it’s so quiet actually. It’s cute that all the staff seems to be senior citizens in their 70s and even 80s and are working even at this age, unlike what I’ve seen in India. I will post pics on my Instagram @namionthemove
This hotel enjoys a quiet yet central location in the Bavarian town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, just one km (half a mile) from the Olympiaschanze ski jump and the main railway station.

This was the best hotel that we stayed in. The breakfast was delicious the variety of food was good. We really enjoyed the afternoon snack. Dinner was excellent. The room was spacious and very clean. bed and pillows very comfy. Bathroom was also spacious and modern. The location was excellet. The service from all the staff at Hotel Zugspitz was awesome!
Ettals main, and only, attraction is the Abbey. Which is certainly impressive. You'll most likely visit Ettal for the region, as it is a great point to start your hikes and/or visit Oberammergau and Garmisch-Partenkichen. Munchen and Innsbruck are only an hour drive away.

This busy hotel has the feeling of a youth hostel.
This busy hotel has the feeling of a youth hostel. Rooms are simply but practically equipped. There’s a constant coming and going of tourists. Unfortunately,
I couldn’t bring me dog to breakfast. I wasn’t told that outside it is possible.
Breakfast was basic. Scrambled eggs came in squared chunks, thus probably defrozen. Lots of plastic (Marmelade, Butter,…)
The whole personnel is polish. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, I had just expected a Bavarian host.
All in all my stay here felt like holidays off an assembly line.

Beautiful town nestled in the mountains.
Beautiful town nestled in the mountains. The monastery is right at the bottom of the hill from the hotel and it’s conveniently located near Schloss Linderhof and Oberammergau. There were other hotels but we chose this one for the view AND based on the menus at other restaurants this was the best. We took a self tour of the monastery as well as bought beer from their brewery and cheese too. The hotel served the beer from the monastery as well as used it in some of their specialty dishes.

The location is beautiful with the mountains in the background. There is a lot to see in the area. The only unfortunate part was that we were between seasons and many restaurants and stores had limited hours or were closed.

Ettal is a great place for sight seeing and visiting castles etc. The one downside is the location. The weather can change very quickly, a sunny hot day can turn into a very wet and dower one in the blink of an eye. Looking over the valley when it is obscured by clouds and rain can be a bit disheartening. If your looking for wall to wall sunshine then this is not the best choice.

Very wonderful village and the surrounding mountains are stunning. For anything longer then 3 day stay though, a bike is essential to being able to get to the surrounding towns for groceries and such. The attractions in Ettal are far more then one would expect with such a small population, but the business hours on google are not to be trusted as they change with the seasons and holidays.
This is one of the best apartments we have stayed in. Very well designed, equipped, clean, comfortable and spacious. Peta is very friendly and kind. She kept the heater running for us as we didn't expect summer would be this cold for the last few days. The location is off the main road, quiet, next to a nice restaurant, opposite the Ettal monastery and brewery, very close to a nice little bakery which offers good simple breakfast and 15 km away from Zugspitze.
This hotel is lovely! The beds, linens, decor, view (from our room) location, parking....fantastic. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We were there for the Passion Play in nearby village/town and this hotel was perfect. And, they had the most beautiful and healthy houseplants I've ever seen!
I support several vacation rentals in Hawaii and I'm very selective. This is a beautiful property and I would highly recommend staying here.

We very much enjoyed the room & the breakfast (a very hearty breakfast). The spa including the pool, the sauna, and the massage were appreciated after a long 2 weeks of travel, hiking, and playing tourist.
The proximity to the Ettal monastery and basilica (both located across the street) were the primary reason for staying at the Hotel Klosterhotel Ludwig der Bayer, so an outstanding hotel made the visit much more enjoyable.
Beautiful, peaceful location. Hotel is immaculate and very comfortable. It's rare that I can find comfortable pillows, but they had them here! Staff is friendly and helpful, and the restaurant is great for breakfast and dinner (we didn't eat lunch). Perfect spot for touring many popular areas. Highly recommend!
This is a cozy hotel with a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. It is in a charming little village surrounded by picturesque Bavarian mountains, with the sound of sheep bells.
Very clean hotel, rooms have their own little balconies. Hotel has a restaurant and little bar, and a lovely little pool area.
The view from the hotel room was beautiful. We stayed at the hotel for my wife's birthday night and a Birthday card was kept along with Prosecco in our room. She couldn't be more happy. Also we could enjoy the sunrise from our room balcony. Great breakfast spread.
Overall, a very pleasant experience.
We had a very pleasant stay at Ethiko. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful, and the rooms were comfortable for our family of five. Breakfast was perfect to start our day. 15 minutes to Garmisch attractions and also close to the Ettal Abbey and Oberammergau...neither should be missed!
The Sauna was a good treat for the end of the day, and the restaurant attached to the hotel offered a good selection for a delicious meal. The price for a delicious Avocado Burger was EUR 17,90, so relatively high, so I guess the restaurant charges a premium for its location and atmosphere.
Nice apartment in a great location. Very clean and parking is directly in front of the property. Close to excellent restaurants and cafes and a 4 minute drive to Oberammergau and about 26 minutes to Garmisch. 6 minute drive to the alpine coaster. Great price!
Free parking space. A washing machine and dryer. Good equipped kitchen. Contact with the hosts was only digital, but quick and friendly response. Ettal is a nice village and a good starting point for walking paths.
Excellent hotel in beautiful surroundings. The breakfast is delicious and the hotel restaurant offers exceptional Bavarian cuisine. The sauna is an added perk and was used daily.
Everything in the hotel is extremely clean. Sauna area is recently renovated. Great breakfast, kind and caring staff. The area is quiet. Recommended for a long stay.
