Everything was fantastic. Sabine is a wonderful host, she manages to be both super helpful and warm while also giving you lots of space. The beds are outstandingly comfortable. Breakfast was great. The garden was beautiful and the location was super for exploring the local area.
As we stayed two nights we were given a pass for attractions in the local area- some free and some discounted. This was so valuable, we couldn’t believe it! So many fantastic things to do in Schwartzwald. We’ll definitely be back and will recommend it to our friends. Thanks Sabine and the team!

A beautifully clean Black Forest Town, built around a large central square.
Plenty of restaurants and bars, and shops (though quite expensive!), and a wonderful central area of grass, water fountains (for children to play in), and a 'sand and slide' kids play area too.

Freudenstadt is a good base for exploring the river valleys in northern Black Forest. Nowhere is too far, for example Baden Baden about 45 mins away. City feels like a safe place, the central square, said to be biggest in Germany, has a number of restaurants and a small brewery, Very pleasant place to end the day.
There are all the usual supermarkets: REWE, Lidl, Aldi.
Plenty of service stations.
Huge parking under town square.
Everything very new, town was destroyed by French artillery in '45.

We stayed one night on our way to Italy and arrived late (18:00), which might have been a bit too short to see the town. There were alot of restaurants to eat at, and the area around the village is very nice. If you like to have a nice drive with a couple of stops with a great view you should try the B500 road.

Nice city.
Nice city. Not so much information available on what to do and what not to. Stay should be in city and near to Black Forest tours. Hbf is not correct place to stay. Please collect information on what you want to do before visit and do that precisely. Otherwise you are lost.
It's a very good hotel, located directly in the black forest but still being a walking distance from the town. The design and the concept of the hotel are excellent. The breakfast is very good with many options. We especially liked the Bavarian white sausages (weisswurst) with sweet mustard and pretzel. There are many great hiking options in the area, also starting directly from the hotel. The hotel has a great spa area and a swimming pool. Despite being not super cheap, the hotel fulfilled our expectations to almost 100 %.
The quiet and beautiful village Igelsberg is easy to reach with a car from Freudenstadt or Baiersbronn.
The lodge is in the center, but still a peaceful location. The owner Sarah is very helpful and friendly, ready to share good tips about the activities in the area.
The room on top the floor was clean and cosy. We had a very good sleep.
Almost no mobile coverage available in the village, but the Wifi in the lodge was fast and stable to write emails etc.
We recommend this place and hope to return someday again.
The best of the 5 different hotels that we stayed at in Germany! It had the largest room with a large couch and skylights, as well as the largest balcony with reclining chairs and a table. It had the largest bathroom. The food was exceptionally good. We ate in a shaded area of the main floor balcony overlooking the scenic back yard. The pool in the basement was a nice size and was very clean. They had clean private rooms for changing close to the pool as well. Off street parking was close to the entrance too.
Fabulous traditional hotel. Quality furnishings and highest standards of hotel-keeping. Fabulous dinner and breakfast served by attentive and well trained staff. Like stepping back in time to the 1920s . Housekeeping and quality of bedrooms was outstanding.
Warm welcome and v helpful receptionists.
Our first visit but now one our favourite hotels ever!!
Didn’t use pool or spa but other guests loved these.
The room was nice and it included some refreshments free of charge in the fridge.
Easy check in and check out.
Big TV, comfy bed and nice views through the window.
As a hotel guest, you have access to the fitness and wellness areas but, due to lack of time, we didn't use this service.
The location is obviously great. The hotel has a nostalgic cozy feel. The breakfast was adequate. The room was clean and the cleaning is daily. The bed is very comfortable. The bathroom although very old and weird was rather interesting. Looked like retro style of the 50's.
It is great. Easy to find. Parking, good entrance, direct access to the forest and my dogs could come as well. The place has everything you need. Very comfortable. Next time when I will be back in Freudenstadt I will definitely come again!
Everything is beautifull and amazing with parking, jacuzzi, high class and confort, close to shops, perfect for hollidays and families for enjoy south of Germany, nice place around Black Forest
Beautifully maintained old gasthaus. Staff especially gracious.
Excellent brewery right across the square.
Dinner and included breakfast in the hotel restaurant were very good.
Extremely friendly staff. Cosy family feeling. First class restaurant. Nicely located, close to the city square. Would definately book again if returning to Freudenstadt.
very good dinners, specially in this bad pandemic period, when other hotels doesn't have the restaurant open.
Breakfast with wide choiches, from the salty to the sweet
Very stylish, clean hotel. The studio room with the view into the forest was amazing! Also Spa area very lovely and relaxing. Views around the hotel are just amazing!
