With more canals than Amsterdam and Venice combined and over 2300 bridges, Hamburg is an independent city-state with the Europe’s second busiest port and one of Germany's most popular football teams, Hamburg SV.
No trip to Hamburg is complete without a visit to the city’s old warehouse district, the Speicherstadt, and the popular harbour promenade, the Landungsbrücken. The best and most popular way to explore the city is by boat or a ferry so you can truly admire the stunning architecture and the city’s waterways.
The impressive City Hall and the popular St. Michaelis church will awe any visitor and music fans should seek out the Indra and the Star Club, where the Beatles played between 1960 and 1962. For a different look at Hamburg, moonlit strolls in the Reeperbahn will bring visitors through the largest red light district in Europe.
Hamburg is famous for its local dishes, the Birnen, Bohnen and Speck, the Aalsuppe and the open-faced sandwiches with cold-smoked or pickled fish. The laid-back cafés of Schanze neighbourhood and barbecues on a beach along the Elbe River are great ways to relax after heavy sightseeing.
The city centre can be reached from Hamburg-Fuhlsbüttel Airport and Hamburg-Lübeck Airport using either train or bus services. Whether you’re looking for a luxury hotel, traditional apartment or youth hostel, Booking.com has everything you need for you Hamburg holiday.

Although Hamburg was severely destroyed by WWII bombs, this city keeps destroying buildings and sites from the early 20th and 19th century that were spared by the bombs. There is less and less left of what has made this city unique. The last example is Sternbrücke and buildings around it although it was a protected structure!

Food options were plenty and great options as well.
Food options were plenty and great options as well. Metro was very convenient but a bit sketchy, however its always busy so even though its a bit sketchy you have enough people around you. For football fans, Hamburger SV is fun to visit, I personally liked it and even my girlfriend did. The ship museum was pretty cool, however it is HUGE, with 10 floors so don't take too long checking out the first couple floors if you don't want to be there the whole day. We didn't go to the Reeperbahn, we stayed more on the other side of the city and from my experience its a location more for couples. But that may be different if you go to the Reeperbahn etc. All in all its definitely a recommendable city.

Hamburg is a fantastic city with an excellent public transport system which is affordable, and you are able to get anywhere you need to.
There are many different districts for everyone’s taste from snobs to hipsters to boys/girls nights out😂 great for couples too!
The Reeperbahn is well worth a visit for first timers!
The Landungsbrücken are as spectacular as the harbour itself and the main attractions for in relatively short walking distance
Can’t recommend the city enough!

Well worth a visit if you have never been.
Well worth a visit if you have never been. A lot more culture and museums than one might expect. Obviously a mecca for stag do's but there is so much more to this place. Great food and drink and a very cosmopolitain city. Downsides , there are loads of rough sleepers, look out for beggers but use common sense and you should be ok.

There was very, very little that I found in Hamburg that was not excellent. The transport system is very good. The city has many interesting areas and is well-kept. I found the people to be very open and friendly.
This seems to be a family run business therefore the people working there care about the level of service they provide. Everyone was super friendly. The rooms are decently sized and they were renovated not too long ago. Best shower water pressure I had in a very long time. The breakfast was small but very good and whenever we needed something they were very fast in replenish things. Considering that hotels in Hamburg are pricey this is a good option and the prices are very reasonable.
The friendliest staff in the whole Germany -I know, I travel a lot-, I even got a fresh coffee for the road after checkout. Receptionists were all highly professional and polite, even the "breakfast lady" was very friendly.
Very Clean, fresh, organized...
Make sure to check if you are reserving your room with or without bathroom during booking.
I found it to be a great option, giving the chance to save on hotel room. It was very convenient - even the room without bathroom.
Perfect location in the centre of Hamburg with all the facilities at your disposal 24/7.Very friendly and mannered personal always helpful regarding your request’s making your stay a very relaxed one.
The hotel is providing high quality products regarding brasserie, dishes and drinks with an exquisite and captivating french theme including decoration and upgraded technology at your disposal.
Entirely recommended!
Great location, 5 minutes from the Reeperbahn and in the fun St Pauli district. An unlooked-for bonus was the small smoking lounge, a rarity these days. Staff were friendly and helpful, room was big, bed comfortable. Bathroom adequate. We were able to park right on the street straight in front of the hotel, for nothing, so that was very handy. Also Hamburg seems like a great city, from our experience.
The bed, bath and general room were spacious. The hotel was well-maintained and clean. I found the staff helpful in notifying me of the rules/regulations in Hamburg during these difficult COVID-19 times. Niclas Dannhaeuses helped me book a test at the nearby test centre (all the instructions were in German so I could not navigate the website by myself).
The only half-good things about this hotel were the location and the room. The hotel is next to the main train station and shopping streets of Hamburg, so it's comfortable to go to the city centre.
The room was really comfortable for both of us and had everything we needed for our 3-day stay (would not recommend it for any more than that though).
The room was really clean, as was the rest of the hotel. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was nice. Location is fairly good, with easy access to public transport and a quick and easy ride into the centre of Hamburg. Midday check-out was very helpful. Staff were friendly but we had an overbooking and double-charging issue as described below...
Boutique style hotel with great design, perfectly located in Hafencity right next to Speicherstadt und with the city centre in walking distance. Big fan of Boilerman bar and Neni restaurant, both within the building. Super friendly staff, always happy to help. and of course „Stop the water while using“ cosmetics available in the rooms.
Easy to get train from airport,€3.50.we arrived late in evening easy walk to hotel from train station used google maps 10min walk if that.
Ibis is a great location to city centre, lots of bars restaurants near by I didn’t have breakfast at Ibis.friendly staff and clean WiFi in room 24hrs free then pay a small fee after.
Large modern hotel in a great location with friendly staff that speak English.. Family room was a good size and breakfast was excellent with a large selection. Hotel is right next to escalator down to HafenCity U4 U-Bahn station which gives quick and cheap access to all parts of Hamburg.
This is a bit of a gem of a hotel. Very modern and recently refurbished tastefully. Good location in the suburbs of Hamburg but is very close to the train andf bus stations so connectivity is easy to get into Hamburg centre. Breakfast was good too.
The hotel was excellent staff were very nice room was clean Andy comfortable I loved the location and I am thinking if I do revisit Hamburg I will stay in the same hotel and I am seriously recommended to all my friends❤️
Very well located for getting around Hamburg..easy walk into centre. Station adjacent. Well appointed hotel, great pool & spa, good restaurants with outdoor seating. Excellent breakfast buffet
This hotel exceeded our expectations. Very easy check in and check out, friendly stuff and everything was cleaned daily. We highly recommend choosing prizeotel for your stay in Hamburg.
Very modern, comfortable Hotel, staff all very friendly. Excellent location, 5 mins walk to either the main train station or the centre of Hamburg. Great breakfast selection.
Location is excellent. beautiful boutique hotel decorated with taste and sophistication. Very close to the university of Hamburg (this is why I booked it).
Excellent city centre hotel . Very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Our room was very quiet. Bed was comfortable. We will certainly stay here again.
It can be seen that the hotel is renovated, and located in the city centre which is a plus, if you are here to have fun, its the perfect place to stay.
