This place is a little gem. The host Edgar was very friendly sharing his travel stories. The food and local wine were wonderful. This is an older style hotel but it is well looked after. If you prefer a quieter place to stay, this is it. Note, there are no lifts (as expected for an older and more authentic style hotel). If it did have lifts, it would spoil this lovely place.
Set in a historic building in Kaub Old Town, this family-run hotel offers rental bikes, rooms with free WiFi and a restaurant with fine, regional cuisine.

Beautiful hotel in a very old building. Room was lovely with a view of the Rhine. The breakfast is delicious with plenty of choice including a hot eggs and bacon option. Staff were lovely & very helpful. We ate at the restaurant one evening only as it only does Thai food - which was very nice but we like German traditional options and they had none. We walked to Bacharach along the Rhine in about 1 hr 20 which was an easy flat walk and bach again. Highly recommend this hotel if visiting the lovely historic town of Oberwesel.
Located within a historic castle, this 4-star hotel offers gourmet cuisine, romantic rooms with great views of the medieval town of Oberwesel and the Rhine River Valley.

Kaub is a very pleasant village in the Rhine gorge .
Kaub is a very pleasant village in the Rhine gorge . Transport links are very easy and convenient with hourly trains in both directions to Frankfurt and Koblenz and Cologne and a short walk to hotels and guest houses from the rail station. There is also a ferry across the river for cars and foot passengers to Oberwesel .
Like all the Rhineland towns and villages there is excellent scenery and plenty of walking routes from up steep paths to stunning views and easier low level paths along the Rhine embankment.
Kaub is as good as all of the Rhine gorge locations very convenient for all types of traveler and tourist, whether you travel by private transport or public Kaub is easy and convenient with with excellent scenery and is a great place to stay.

It is a beautiful but very small village: the restaurants are not open everyday during the week so eating choices are limited but there is a great train connection to the neighbouring villages. I recommend the rafting tours that go from Kaub
Small town with friendly people.
Lovely home, and we got an upgraded offer to take up two bedrooms on the second floor!
After the day trips, we felt like coming back home instead of a usual hotel room.
There is a bakery just next door which opens at 0630am!
A renovation/maintenance is being carried out at the church opposite the house, which could lead to parking issues. But there are enough spots available nearby and also at b42 highway.
This was also communicated by the landlord in advance. So we were prepared
Big thank you to the hostess of the hotel, who welcomed us with glasses of sparkling home wine and showed us around the castle. At the end she offered us sandwiches to go as we had a day of trekking ahead of us, thank you :) For the hotel - beautiful spot, you can sleep in the medieval castle but with a comfort and style. You can relax in few gardens, terrace or a library with a fireplace.

Breakfast was great! The views were fantastic! Only five rooms at this time, so there was no crowd and the opportunity to explore the castle as you wished. Also, not open to the public, so only the hotel's staff and guests were present.
Location off the beaten path, super quiet, 5min walk to the ferry, then 10min by car to Bacharach or Oberwesel. Hotel has a restaurant bar, host was kind and helpful. Breakfast plenty for a long day exploring the castles.
Perfect location for the Rheinsteig, right in the middle of Kaub and an attractive place to stop over. Also easy to access from the station for walkers/day trips. Comfortable and very clean.
We really enjoyed the staying in Kaub. The staff was very nice, building very cool while outside it was very warm. Breakfast in the morning was included and freshly made.
