    It is a typical 'siel' harbour town.

    It is a typical 'siel' harbour town. Most places have free parking but the seils have expensive car parks. The harbour is very interesting and there is a stall serving local fish rolls whch are well worth a try. It is a pretty little fishing town but I imagine it woudl be really busy in the summer hols as Germany doesn't have a lot of coastline. Bensersiel is the setting for the famous Riddle of the Sands film but in the ten yearas since we first visited it, it has changed with fewer fishing smacks and less cahrm.

    A charming small town built around a sluice on the Dyke with a scenic busy harbour. The fascinating local lifeboat museum is a must for anyone with an interest in the sea or lifeboats on particular. A great area for easy walking or bicycle rides. Miles of safe path/cycle ways.

    The kindness of the host and the cosiness of the apartment made the stay a pleasure. Although it is not in walking distance to Neuharlingersiel this developed to a pro because of some rainy days and the inherent possibility to enter into the own car for changing or getting rid of some luggage became a very welcomed side effect.
