Stately Stuttgart is friendly and green. Surrounding the city are tree-lined hills, while in the centre is the ‘Green U’, a series of parks and gardens that make great picnic spots.
The city’s focal point, Schlossplatz is a huge square with a tall column marking the entrance to the New Palace. Dating back to the 10th century, the city’s Old Palace is just opposite and its square is the site of the Stuttgart Christmas markets.
In the Bad Cannstatt area of Stuttgart are mineral spas, the 2nd largest in Europe behind Budapest. Just south of here is what the city is perhaps best known for – its car industry. Head to the architecturally-impressive Mercedes-Benz World for a spiralling walk through its history. On the opposite side of the city is the Porsche Museum, also worth a look.
Always something of a pioneer, the city erected the world’s first TV tower. Go to the top for amazing views. Other interesting Stuttgart attractions are the planetarium, and Stuttgart Zoo, housed in the Wilhelma Palace, built in Moorish style and once home to royals.
Before heading to Stuttgart Airport from your Booking.com hotel, apartment or B&B, make sure that you try some local Swabian food. The brezel (pretzel) originated here and makes a very tasty snack.

The centre is lovely: the Koenigsplatz and nearby, particularly when the sun is shining, is a good place to drink a coffee.
We always love the Stiftskirche: sometimes an organ is playing in there. The Markt is amazing: we usually buy things there. We recommend the excellent Italian restaurant on its first floor.
The parks are lovely too. Although the new railway station is a mess, one can still get to green places.
We also love the shops, particularly the old Stuttgart ones like Tritschler and Breuninger.

I've never seen a german city with more confusing roads and walkways 😄 It's like a city planner was on steroids. However the city is quite versatile and offers a lot of activities. Great for families, great for single persons. If you like to discover Stuttgart by bike: bring you muscles - a lot of hills there 😄

Stuttgart is currently under major construction to beautify it. At this point it was not pretty or inviting - maybe in a couple of years time when they get ahead it may feel more welcoming. Poverty is clearly an issue as it was prevalent throughout the city. The old city remnants are harder to distinguish and need revamping. Transport is good but two days is more than enough.
The malls were clean, tidy and provided a good selection of food and beverages.

Went to break up trip between Strasbourg and Nuremberg while visiting Christmas markets. Very pleasantly surprised at how nice the market was. Definitely one of the best. Enjoyed walking around and seeing the nicely, creatively decorated chalet rooftops. Food choices were very good and the vibe seemed a bit more authentically adult. I recommend a stopover in Stuttgart.

Love the many pedestrian only areas, the restaurants, and the shopping! Also, many great parks and the Zoo. Also easy to hop on trains and travel to other towns - we went to Esslingen and also to Strasbourg FR.
Recommend Robert Italian Cucina for great Italian food!
The Park Inn turned out to be a very comfortable and convenient hotel in a unique Stuttgart neighborhood. Marienplatz had plenty of good restaurants, cafes and shops. The hotel was a 15 minute walk to the tourist center and located right beside a great hub for public transportation. The hotel had a fantastic breakfast and very nice fitness area and sauna. The staff was always helpful and the hotel provided table with free snacks and fruit-infused water in the lobby.
Rooms are very clean, Breakfast is really nice and the location is super! very near the Hbf (Main Station) and 3 minutes walk to the City Center. Absolutely a very pleasant experience. But the most amazing part of the experience is the hotel employees! Really professional, very pleasant and extremely helpful. The Owners of the hotel were awesome! Very welcoming and extremely caring! I loved the whole experience
We arrived early about 4 hours before check-in.
We are a family of four with two small children and were traveling with 5 checked bags with no where to go.
The hotel under the circumstances offered us a room early and gave the children treats and coloring books.
Who does that?
Well Movenpick at Stuttgart airport did.
They went out of their way to accommodate us and we are very thankful.
- Spotlessly clean
- Modern room, new furniture
- Comfortable bed
- Very qualitative window isolation. Although the hotel is next to the U-bahn lines, we barely heard something.
- Very friendly staff
- Nice breakfast
- Close to the city center (3 stations with U-Bahn)
- The fact that the towels and garbage cans were replaced daily was a pleasant surprise:)
Beautiful small hotel in Stuttgart near the city center. I stayed here one night to attend a wine festival. Hotel was within walking distance of the event. Room was spacious and bathroom was beautiful with large shower. Staff was very helpful in getting directions to the wine festival. Great room for the price. Would highly recommend!
Complete value for the money, friendly and helpful staff, clean and spacious room with big and comfortable bed.
From our window we had a view over the Stuttgart.
City center is 15 min away by foot, also shopping areas.
I haven't seen so many options for the breakfast until now, quite surprised.
Great location in the center of Stuttgart. Shopping and dinning all in a walking distance and there’s plenty of variety. Parking on-site was excellent, private parking with a convenient entrance to the hotel. Fitness room and breakfast were also great!
The staff were all very nice and welcoming.
nice hotel ,nice location near a garden , a cemetery and a church , and within walking distance to the city center walk for those who want to shop . The parking is very big (I guess it was 3 floor levels under the hotel ) , the staff were friendly and the check in and check out were very fast .
Super friendly staff, very nice location close to Porsche museum and well connected to the city center by public transport. Nice secluded and secure parking. The breakfast was very nice. The family room was perfect for the four of us. A very welcoming hotel and a pleasant experience.
Staff was amazing, very polite and helpful. Room was exceptionally clean, and I love the fact that every room has a little balcony. Additionally, hotel has it's own parking, which is a blessing when it comes to staying in bigger cities.
