We went to Billund for Legoland and Lego House but found the town very accessible and charming. Everything was a short walk away, on paved pathways separate from traffic. There are so many accessible play structures and places to explore.
Eating options were a bit limited, so plan ahead. We went to Atami (all you can eat sushi served by robots) and did a grocery store picnic one night.

Two nights in Billund was plenty to see LEGO House. Our kids were too old to see LEGOland so staying town in was preferable. Good dinners both evenings at local restaurants. Bus to Copenhagen was a breeze, just be sure to book far in advance.

Drinks are very expensive.
Drinks are very expensive. Go to the supermarket and take with you. Resturants charge 35 (£3.50) for tap water. The playline is a fun way to get children walking to each place. Everything is within a 30min walk. Free WiFi in legoland and lalandia. Resturants in town are really not worth the money. The family buffet in legoland was worth the money. Amazing food, free drinks and coffee and ice cream. Lalandia have evening entertainment, so if you are staying in a basic room. I reccomend going there in the evening. You can get a decent meal, soft play is open till 9.30pm (£6 pp) bowling, mini golf, rock-climbing, alpine coaster, singers and stage entertainment.

Good food at Gastropub next to Legohouse (but expensive , £80 for two burgers , 1 sweet and 3 drinks)
Good reasonably priced pizza an Mamma's
Billund bakery (on main street) great for coffee, cakes and sandwiches

Legoland was brilliant. We spent two days in the park.
Legoland was brilliant. We spent two days in the park. Friday was during term time so was quiet with no queues. Saturday was very busy.
My kids were at a good age 13 & 8. They were able to gon on everything. They are strict with the height restrictions.
Lalandia Resort is also worth going to situated right across the road from Legoland.
Billund is relatively small and you can walk to most places.
Buses run regularly but some are cash only. They will take euro.
Under 12s travel free.
Mamas restaurant was lovely as was the gastropub in Billund.
Hotel is close to Billund, LEGOland- and walkable into town if you do not have a car- about a 15+ walk through a sculpture pedestrian trail (or a 5 min drive).
Room was able to check into early.
Room was a good size.
Enjoyed the breakfast, friendly staff.
Close to the airport, did not try to take public transportation to the airport- as it was too early and about a 5-10 min walk to the bus stop but instead took a more expensive taxi.
Good Comms before stay, really helpful check in staff and staff generally to be fair - our Danish is terrible, their English is fantastic.
Really easy to get to and full of things to keep the kids entertained, not to mention it's adjacency to Legoland and bus stops to the town centre and the airport. Good on site shop too. My daughter cried when we had to leave, which was sad but testimony to the fun we all had. Would definitely recommend.
Beautiful property surrounded by forest and colorful flower garden, only minutes away from legoland, grocery, gas station and major thoroughfare to neighboring towns, yet very quiet with just the occasional airplane noise from the nearby airport. Great host who was super friendly and helpful, and kept property in tip-top shape. Loved every minute while staying there with my spouse.
The property near to legoland, legohouse, city center and in the airport. It is very clean. The house has everything. It has laudry area, a good standard kitchen complete of every thing you needed. It has a good space dining and living room. The 2 bed room that has also a comfortable space for us. They have crib for baby and extra diapers😊. It feels like home.
Perfect for visiting Legoland, legohouse... 5 min walk to Legoland and nice walk through the park and woods too the centre of Billund for Legohouse.
Great place to relax at the end of the day. The inside pool is a great plus. The breakfast is very good with a large choice and good quality products. Parking in front of the hotel very convenient
The apartment is well situated and easy to find as well as it is close to Legoland, so you do not need to rent a car. you can arrive by bus from airport and the take a walk. The shop is almost round the corner. The host is very attentive. if we will plan to visit Legoland again, I will book the same apartment for sure. Thank you very much!
We loved our house. It was clean and plenty of room for the 8 of us. We could walk to Legoland and even Lego House. There was also a train from the houses to Lalandia in case you don’t want to walk. The Aquadome at Lalandia was a blast. Highly recommend.
Great location to chill after Legoland. Amazing playground with zip line and many other attractions! Clean rooms, comfy kitchen, nice hosts. Absolutely lovely area, nice 45-minutes hike from the airport (or few minutes with a bus).
I liked the location of the apartment. It was really near the city center and also the Legoland was walkable distance away. We even walked from and to the airport but it is possible to take the bus also.
Location is great, close to legoland and waterpark, even airport is a walking distance, though there is a free shuttle both directions. In motel territory is a lot of stuff to do for the kids.
Fantastic place to stay after a visit to lego house/legoland. Great to be able to hang out outside and kids/teenagers have loads to keep them entertained
