If I could give this place more than ten, I would. Our stay there was wonderful and Paulina was simply the loveliest host I have ever met on my travels. Her mother also cooked us a three course meal that was delicious and enormous - and for a ridiculously low price. The Lodge has a variety of accommodations and a lovely lounge with wood fire. Outside are two llamas and two sheep! The location is on the road from the PanAmericana to the gate of the Cotopaxi National Park so is perfectly situated. Paulina is extremely knowledgable about the area and we were so grateful that she spoke English so that we could talk to her and learn from her. We had originally planned to stay somewhere else but a medical issue required a change of plans - and we are so grateful that we ended up at Rumipaxi Lodge.

This is a place to sleep, no more, no less. Although the staff only speak minimum English they really do their best to help you. We also left our luggage here for free during our 3 day Quilotoa loop.

Muy buena atención e instalaciones, muy recomendado.

The most convenient airport for both domestic and international travellers is Mariscal Sucre International Airport in Quito, due to its extensive flight connections. It's approximately 90km from Latacunga.

The only reason to stay here was to get an early bus to the Quilotoa loop. Walked round and there were zero attractions to visit. Even the churches were shut but that may have been due to the State of Emergency. Didn't eat out because I didn't see anywhere open I fancied eating in.

Though not much to do in the city, it's nevertheless a convenient stop for accessing all the nearby volcanoes and lakes. The city has a potential, it needs a bit of tourism infrastructure to encourage longer stay rather than a quick passing through.
We stayed in the large double room which had a big double bed and two big single beds, a sofa and a walk in wardrobe. It was huge! We stayed before and after the Quilotoa loop so the hotel stored our bags for free. Comfortable beds, quiet and dark at night - the best sleep we have had in South America! The staff were also very friendly, made a good breakfast (if a little small) and even allowed us to use their kitchen to make a small dinner when restaurants were closed on a Sunday evening. You can borrow a hairdryer too.
The value of the hostel is incredible, the rooms are basic but clean and comfortable and Marco and his family/staff are super friendly and exceptionally helpful. We stayed for one night before doing the Quilotoa loop and two nights after. Marco took us for free to the bus station to go to Sigchos, up to Cotopaxi ($35/person) and to the bus station again to Quito for free. Breakfast is good ($2.50) for juice, cheese stuffed bread, fruit bowl, scrambled eggs and coffee/tea.
This little family-run hotel is in a very clean, safe, and central location in the best spot in Latacunga. You can choose if you want a view out into the park/plaza, which we'd suggest to be able to view the incredible sunset each evening. It may be a little more noise, but even on Christmas Eve and Day, we didn't experience too much chaos outside our window. The staff at this hotel are so warm and friendly, and very attentive to their guests.
Staff were very helpful at all times, great room, shower and parking was extremely secure, when we booked at short notice we had fairly low expectations staying here, but this hotel was excellent. We are so glad we stayed here and if we are ever in the area again, we will stay here again. The downstairs restaurant is an absolute lifesaver after a long day driving.
Comfy & clean room/bed. Breakfast was good - a decent amount of food which was great before starting the Quilotoa hike. Really convenient and secure luggage storage (I think $3 per day) for whilst hiking. Good location, only about 10mins walk from the bus stop. Lots of maps & information about Latacunga and also bus information/advice for the Quilotoa loop.
Very helpful staff!! Marcel informed us how we can get to all these beautiful places around and in Latacunga. AND: Marcel was super helpful and caring when we were unfortunately robbed in the bus. Marcel and his mother drove us to the next police station - caring so much about us! Thank you so much!
The room and the breakfast were also excellent!
I loved the historic charm of the building, antique decor, great architecture. The location is excellent. The shower was hot. Our room was clean. The breakfast was good and different each day. The staff was the best. Friendly and polite and gave us a good feeling about Latacunga and helped arrange an all day tour to Quilatoa. WiFi is superior.
The price is cheap for a double room with bathroom, almost half the price of anywhere else we could find to book online. The staff were helpful. It was useful being able to get breakfast at the hotel for an extra charge. You can walk to town and the main bus station from the hotel.
I stayed at Hotel Rosim for one night and would recommend it. Staff were very nice and helpful even though I speak only the very most basic Spanish. I was allowed to check in early. The location in Latacunga is great, and breakfast is large and very tasty. Wifi worked well.
Great location in town, very helpful and friendly owner, nice roof terrace, comfortable beds with plenty of blankets. We were able to split the dates of our booking to do the Quilotoa Loop and come back. The hotel stored our bags while we did the loop.
Staff was really nice. They recommended us a very good sushi restaurant. I wouldn't expect it in Latacunga. They also helped us with a trip to Cotopaxi and laguna Quilotoa. Plus is also a parking and lot of restaurants nearby.
Perfect location. Early breakfast to allow using the early morning. Good advice on trips by the staff including checking the latest bus schedules. You can also book trips directly at the hotel. Good dinner recommendations.
Amazing space, close enough to Latacunga but out in the countryside. Great view of Cotopaxi (when not cloudy!) the spa area was fab especially sauna after hiking. Cute dogs and animals at the site ☺️
Friendly hostel close to the center and bus station. Helpful owner and staff, good tips for trips to the surrounding sights. Shower always with really hot water. Free tea and coffee in the lobby.
The location was central, to national parks in the area. It was also walking distant to several nice restaurants within the central city.
Additionally, the hotel was gorgeously decorated.
Friendly and helpful staff, great common areas. Good location accessible to dining, transportation and sightseeing in Latacunga. Tiana is a great base for exploring the Quilotoa loop.
The position is great. A big parking is next to the hotel. Normal room size and quality. The breakfast was awesome, made by the owner who was really kind and welcoming.
