EVERYTHING, it was amazing, set in a beautiful Andalusian town. The property was immaculate and our room was fantastic. The staff did a great job considering they spoke no English, so friendly, helpful, and couldn’t do enough, brilliant people.

Camping Rural Presa La Viñuela, hotel in Almáchar

Located in Axarquía in Málaga province, this campsite has a terrace overlooking Viñuela Reservoir. It offers an outdoor pool and modern, air-conditioned bungalows with a TV and private balcony.

Old fashioned but nice and fairly spacious bungalow, the restaurant nearby is very good. We even enjoyed a dip in the pool. And the small terrace belonging to the bungalow was very nice.

Hotel B&B Finca la Loma, hotel in Almáchar

Set in Comares, 35 km from Málaga, Finca La Loma offers a restaurant and free WiFi. There is a private bathroom with shower and a hairdryer in each unit, along with free toiletries.

Surrounded by olive groves, Finca la Loma is a traditional hilltop home with fabulous views in all directions. It has delightful gardens and a pool to relax by. The welcome we received from our hosts, Linda and Luis, was as warm and bright as the weather. Our room had an old fashioned charm and was comfortable We chose to eat evening meals at Finca la Loma on both evenings we were there. Good food, great atmosphere. Luis played a little flamenco guitar on the first evening, it was spellbinding! Breakfast was simple but more than sufficient. Linda recommended two walks from the Finca. One led to Comares, the nearest whitewashed village, perched on top of a hill, it is full of moorish architecture and winding alleys. The other walk was through the olives to the ruins of a moorish house. There is a hamlet close to the Finca which boasts a cafe/pub. It did food and drink and seemed to be the hub of the local population late afternoon/early evening. It doesn’t open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Loved our stay here. The apartment was perfectly clean, quiet and spacious. The kitchen corner is fully equipped with everything a guest would need. Free parking in the front of the building. The owner of the house was so generous, warm and friendly and always smiling and she made sure our stay was very comfortable. The best thing was that our dog was welcome. Thank you so much!

Almachar is a very rural spot with beautiful surroundings and constant sunshine. It’s perfect for a restful holiday by the pool but you will need a car to get around and the nearest good supermarket is around 25mins away and the nearest airport (Malaga) about 50 mins away. The town itself is quaint and contains a few small bars/coffee shops but other than that, not a lot going on. Some of the roads were scary to navigate (especially in a van/people carrier) as they are very windy and thin.
