Beautiful old city with great architecture and lively nightlife. The Camino Inglés winds through the city, making it especially convenient for those walking that pilgrimage route to Santiago. We happened to be there during tortilla celebration week, and the Betanzos tortillas are a speciality. Best hint - find the small cafe/bars located through the “arches” in narrow streets just off the main plaza.LisaUnited States

It's just a few minutes to walk to the town plaza, grocery store, etc. and the kitchen was well-stocked with what we needed to make dinner after a long day walking on the Camino Ingles. Isabel was a delight to deal with, and helped us with directions and logistics for our stay. We were fetched in the centre of town, and taken to the start of the walk again the next morning. On our second day we walked to Presedo, where Antonio fetched us after lunch. He took us back to Presedo the following day, to continue our walk from there. All the extra driving, at no extra cost - a true Camino host!!

We were also taken into town and picked up again in the evening so that we could get something to eat in the restaurants in town and then dropped in town in the morning to continue our walk.. Jesus was very welcoming, and they had both an elevator and air conditioning! Also, we had a delicious dinner at the restaurant downstairs. All in all, a great stay after a long Camino stage.
