The hotel is located in walking distance to the town center and the beach. The hotel was nice, clean, small but comfortable. Swimming pool was clean. We had all inclusive and the burgers by the pool area were a nice touch. Most of the staff were very friendly and nice. However we did not receive a proper welcome when we arrived.

A busy tourist beachside town with plenty of choice for restaurants bars etc as well as the usual holidays shops. The main shopping area is pedestrianised so thats great but for me too crowded and busy, a sort of Spanish Benalmadena without the nonsense, clean, no drinks and no nonsense

Calella beach was very clean and stretches for a few miles before it joins the next resort and didn’t get overcrowded. Nice restaurants and bars and the town is much quieter than Lloret which was a pleasant surprise. Would recommend a visit and would definitely go back.
It is easy to walk around the narrow streets and along the promenade to the next resorts along the coast. We didn’t hire the free bikes as we preferred to walk but the offer of free bike hire is definitely a bonus offered by the hotel.

Calella is 1.5h from Barcelona city.
Calella is 1.5h from Barcelona city. If you're prepared to travel that far outside the city, then stay here. There are not a lot of activities to do in the area, this place is best for lounging about on the beach or by the pool.
1. Private place at underground parking just in front of house. And this is a really huge advantage.
2. Close to main Calella street with all shops and activities, but quiet place at the same time.
3. 3 minutes to the beach. And note that beach at this part is ten times less crowdy than at western part of Calella, where the most of hotels placed. At the same time all beach infrastructure is also present. Just nobody jumps over your head.
4. Good air conditioning at the property.
5. Very friendly host.
This is a lovely quiet boutique hotel in the centre of Calella. It’s a little gem no doubt, and perfect if its a quite relaxing holiday that you want and need . As previous reviewers have stated, the pool area is beautiful. And the hotel is spotless, with the owner Paul, his wife and family in attendance in a wonderful caring, but none intrusive manner towards their guests. The AC was a must as weather was so hot, that was a definite necessity and we were delighted that we had it.
The food was excellent, congratulations to everyone from the kitchen, buffer breakfast and dinner. Juice, coffee, milk, yogurt are included with breakfast, while there is an extra charge for dinner. Every day there were standard and new dishes. For us outside of Spain, a wonderful experience to try Spanish cuisine. Hotel is very close to the beach and close to the city.
The food at the lunch/dinner is excellent. The location and the internet was great. Hot water for shower. Beds are tidied (not cleaned) every day. The pool water is ok.
Sometimes you can find free parking premises.
The prices at the pool bar are good. The hotel itself is clean.
The pool bar waiters, especially Alex and the girl are great.
Superb Location, stayed for Ironman and was 5 minute walk to registration/finish line. was very basic but for the price we paid we expected that so wasn't shocked. very steep to get up to hut (especially after finishing ironman!) but well worth it when you get there, sea views for days, genuinely possibly the best view I've had!
Nice spacious room, not too cool, not too hot or stuffy. It had also air conditioner for those who like cooled down or heated up air. Very well equipped kitchen. Fast WIFI. Hot water always available. Every day cleaning. Very silent - this year Calella had no late night singers from Central EU.
Great staff, air conditioned room and 360 degree view roof top deck with cabanas. Right across from the beach and town promenade. Quiet trains run twice and hour to and from Barcelona. Barcelona an hour away by train. Also direct bus 500 meters away to the Barcelona airport in 2 hours.
Close to the sea and bus stations, also quite close to town center. Staff was very helpful and the serving was good during the meal times, we had an all inclusive and we enjoyed the food, specially the fruits and desserts.
Good diversity on food during meal times.
Small hotel with clean rooms, sea is 5 minutes away, there is a Consum supermarket around the corner, 5 minutes from the main street, 10 minutes from the train station, the night bus from Barcelona stops 2 minutes from the hotel.Very friendly and helpful staff.
I was truly surprise about a quality, what I get for a price in this wonderfull hotel. Run by a family, very friendly. Room was cleaned every day, breakfast was fresh every morning. I would like to stay here again, when I wil get a chance to visit Calella.
The staff was extremely friendly and made everything possible to make our stay comfortable. I was there for the IRONMAN Barcelona and the location of the hotel couldn't be any better. On race day, they prepared an excellent breakfast for the athletes.
All in all I had a very pleasant stay here. The building and facilities have been modernized and well maintained ever since. Staff is friendly and professional. Also having two pools and a large pool area is not common for 3 star hotels in Spain.
Very friendly staff, the facility was very clean, and all in all it exceeded our expectations for a 2 star bead and breakfast! Very good value for the price and if we go to Calella again, we'll be looking to stay there again.
The hotel is located close to the beach and the train station with links to Barcelona. Breakfast is good. There is parking 300 meters away for 1 euro per day. We'll come back here again.
Very nice stay at hotel meri Sol this is my first trip to Spain and my experience is amazing because the staff was very polite and ready to help you alway thank you to all
The location was nice, we got to explained the more traditional side of Calella and the shops were fab.
The hotel was spotless and the pool was lovely.
