Great value, small hotel, centrally located right next to the bus station, but a short distance from the beautiful bay, too. Very friendly staff and a great breakfast!
Set in a quiet area, just 15 minutes’ walk from the centre of Gijón and 5 minutes’ drive from the beach, Hotel Doña María features a 24-hour reception and free WiFi throughout.

I chose the hotel based purely on location (closest one to where the friends I was visiting live) and was absolutely fine for what I needed. I ended up working on my laptop at the little desk in my room a lot more than expected and the WiFi didn't drop once. Staff were friendly, room & hotel clean, a little noisy but it's on the main road with a restaurant underneath (which opens much later than it says online) but the windows keep the worst of the road and bin lorry noises out.
The Plaza I is located in the very center of Luanco, the best example of an Asturian fishing village that has managed to develop its tourist potential, but without losing sight of its fishing essence....
