Breakfast very good as the buffet was well displayed and inviting with a good choice. I am gluten free and there was a gluten free cereal option available without me having to ask for it. This made a nice change.

The Gran Canaria capital, Las Palmas offers everything that the Canaries stand for: year-round sun, fantastic beaches and great nightlife. However, the largest city of this volcanic island group is more than just a beach resort - its mix of traditional and modern makes it stand out from the crowd.
Colourful Colonial façades line Calle Triana, a top shopping street, while the out-of-town Las Arenas shopping complex is much more contemporary in design. The El Muelle shopping centre is near Parque Santa Catalina and the surrounding restaurants, bars and clubs are focal points of Las Palmas nightlife, together with the historic Vegueta district.
Vegueta is also home to Santa Ana cathedral, best viewed from the palm-lined square which houses the Canary Island Museum. Around the corner is the Casa Museo de Colón, where Columbus stayed en route to America. No doubt he sailed from huge Puerto de la Luz whose numerous vessels are guarded by a lighthouse and stone castle.
On the opposite side of the promontory is long Las Canteras beach, lined by a promenade providing great mountain views in both directions. The 5-star hotels by the beach are just some of Booking.com’s Las Palmas accommodation options, alongside cheap guest houses and apartments, all linked by coastal road to Gran Canaria Airport.

The island will definitely appeal to alot of people from all walks - Interestingly the south caters for more touristic attractions and opportunities whilst the centre and north are more historic. The island is accessible via public transport from St. Telmo (bus station) - You'll need to work out the way the busses work (Blue for inter-town, Orange for inside towns) and download the GuaGua app (There's two of them!) - Google Maps helps alot in navigating whilst Apple-Maps is a little sparse on information.
Dont go the route to hire a car - Its not needed and buses are frequent and easily accommodating.
Restaurants are a pick'n'mix re success - Some are great (look for the locals seems a big deal)

Great to walk all over the city.
Great to walk all over the city. The old town and so many beautiful beaches where there are no tourists. They are all on one beach. Positive attitude from everyone I met. Nice to rent a bicycle and travel on excellent bicycle routes throughout the city. Lots of good restaurants. I was there for a month, it felt way too short.

What an island!
What an island! It has an amazing beach - Las Canteras - and amazing places to visit, eat and relax. It is best to rent a car, but you can also use the public buses, which work really well. The taxis are also affordable and reliable. People are friendly, but not overly invasive of your personal space.

Las Palmas is not a particularly pretty town/city; however...
Las Palmas is not a particularly pretty town/city; however the old town of Vegueta is only about 15 minutes on the bus and has both the historic old town with narrow streets, plus the modern shopping street with most of the highstreet shops, and plenty of restaurants and bars.
Las Palmas has many bars and restaurants, as well as the main shopping street Mesa y Lopez, with El Corte Ingles and many more highstreet shops.
There are a couple of indoor shopping centres - one near the Auditorium and one near the port. The Auditorium itself is an interesting building and worth a visit. It looked to have a good programme of concerts too.
There are lots of restaurants and bars on the Canteras promenade but there are also some good ones a block or so back. Lacan (plaza Faray) for pizzas is brilliant but you do have to book, especially at the weekend, and Toma Pan y Moja, which is a small bar on the Canteras promenade is very small and friendly and has some beautiful food and wine. The prawns and the Saharan Calamari are to die for! The bar Ginger further along the promenade serves the best mojitos and La Maravilla a on the next corner does a very good plate of mixed fried fish.

Las Palmas is the biggest city with beaches in canary island and I found it incredible in terms of culture and mentality. The feeling is like traveling in South America, people are easy fun and open minded. I was there for the carnival closure day and it was amazing. Definitely the best carnival I have ever been, and I have been in quite a few.

Locals were very unfreindly toward tourists, I feel very unwelcome .Buildings were not pretty and actually tasteless. Not recommended gran canaria because of hostility toward tourists. There are plenty of sunny places in europe .

For the price it was a great place to stay, I think the bad comments here are from people who expect 5 star hotel experience for pennies. The place had everything a tired traveller might need and it was reasonably clean, very good location, easy to get to by public transport, lots of shops in the area, and beaches. The room was small, but as I was traveling alone, it didn't bother me, the main thing was that the bed was comfortable and I had a good sleep.
The room was large, it has a beautiful big bathroom and the bed was very comfortable! The location was perfect for us to do day trips out exploring around the island. The hostess was so nice! The breakfasts were great and the coffee…amazing! It was a nice start to our day! There was lots of information for local services. Parking is an issue in Gran Canaria but parking is available for $5.00 Euros per day on the property which is secure.
Location was great,
Apartment was clean, host was friendly and correct.
I saw a lot of complaints about location... Please dear people almost all buildings in Las Palmas are old..
To me it was fine. No it's not a brand spanking new tower hotel in Dubai...but it's good enough.. and for the price it's unbeatable...
Complaints about cockroaches..... Haven't seen one in the apartment.. the host is doing all she can to keep them out..
We tried several hotels in Gran Canaria and this one was by far the best one - very nice interior, modern and fresh, the personell was professional, the room was comfortable and quite, and the location is excellent as it is a walkable distance to bus stops and in the old town. In addition, the rooftop pool is wonderful and heated.
If staying in Las Palmas, I would gighly recomend staying here for a few nights.
A hidden gem of a hotel, this place exceeded all of our expectations. Perfect location in the centre of a lovely part of Las Palmas with loads of bars and restaurants within walking distance. The bed was really comfy and the room (and bathroom) was so spacious. Staff were also super friendly and accommodating – would recommend to anyone looking for a bolthole on holiday in Gran Canaria!
Very nicely refurbished old city mansion decorated with a lot of art. Centrally located in the old town of Las Palmas. Large and comfortable room. Very nice roof terrace. Generally friendly and attentive staff. Good breakfast but lacks diversity for a longer stay. Parking in a garage nearby available but nightmarish narrow - the smaller the car the happier you will be.
The location could not have been more perfect. Close to local restaurants, groceries, taxi stand, the coast / beaches, and just a general vibe that was so easy to plug into, I felt like a local in less than a day. If you want to visit Las Palmas and live as if it was your full-time home, this apartment is a perfect choice.
The apartment is spacious and in a great location of Las Palmas. The fact that you have a garage is what makes this the perfect place. The apartment and terrace have everything you need to feel just like home. Very nice decorations, I appreciated that we had two sets of keys and overall the apartment is amazing, but ...
I highly recommend this hostel in Gran Canaria. Everything was top class including all the staff especially the fair haired man who helped us sort taxis into the town and to the airport. Very helpful and kind guy, could not say a bad word about the place, you wouldn’t even think it was a hostel more like a hotel
Great place to stay in Las Palmas! Big terrace with an amazing view on the beach. Check-in went fast and without any problems. The rooms are big with comfortable bunk beds. Shared kitchen and bathrooms were clean and well equipped. Perfect accommodation if you want to be close to the beach and city centre.
perfect place and location..wonderful staff, most beautiful hostel in Gran Canaria..I spent a month and summer with a fantastic experience. I love you all....thanks Alessia, thanks Carlos, thanks vincent and thanks to all the staff..Gaetano 🤙 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
We had a very pleasant stay, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are very elegant and stylisch, and it was lovely to watch the sunsets from the roof terrace. It was by far the best accommodation of our journey to Gran Canaria.
After been on vacation in Gran Canaria i added some days "remote working". It was a great decision to choose this hotel. the rooms have nice views to the Port.
Or youcan work from the rooftop terrace if it is not too hot. The Breakfast was great
We loved the location of this property on the beautiful and historic Plaza Santa Ana within steps of the top three tourist attractions in Las Palmas, the room, cleanliness, view, decor, staff and rooftop lounge were all top notch!
Not only is „aminta home“ meticulously decorated, it’s personnel is also very attentive and caring. They offer you tips on how to get to the good spots of Gran Canaria and how to make your vacation more enjoyable.
The location is great. There's very few low budget options on Gran Canaria and this one is a great value for money.
We got a big room with private bathroom and we're very happy with it.
Love tinoca apartments clean fantastic price for the location so close to the beach bars and restaurants and a blue flag beach will go there again when going to Gran Canaria
Very clean, excellent wifi and good location. In the center of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Very good proposals for outings and leisure. Ideal for work and enjoy the island.
