The city is beautiful and has lots to offer… for example the Cathedral has an impressive museum upstairs on the gallery as well as a stunning altarpiece and stained glass windows; the tourist information office has an important exhibition about the Roman wall, which is apparently the most complete walled city in Europe. You can walk all the way along the wall in about 45 minutes. Coupled with this, there are amazing bars and restaurants with friendly locals and the Playa de Las Catedrales, north of Lugo is the most stunning beach I’ve ever seen.

Mostly pedestrian within the walls, so easy to wander through interesting streets and you can do full circuit of the Roman walls, about 2k, wide path and views over city.Other Roman remains slightly disappointing although the mosaic house was worth visiting. We also enjoyed the exhibition on the Camino in the regional tourist office. Panels in Gallician, Spanish and English. Helpful attendant showed us costume display, garden and gave us leaflets for the different Camino routes.

We used Lugo as a base to visit Santiago and La Curuna. I'm in a wheelchair, so changing hotels constantly is a chore for my partner. We visited Lugo itself on our last day and were pleasantly surprised by its charm, impressive walls and other medieval corners.

The breakfast was good. But the best thing about the hotel was the restaurant. Superb top class food. Bear in mind its difficult to find a good restaurant in Spain (unless in big city): most are bars and cafes. Location was good- 15 min walk to the walled city part. Car park is part of the hotel (underneath) and you can pay as part of the bill - abut 16 E a night. Free parking on the road but it was a hire car so... Nice big room. Fridge with snacks and beverages.

We booked two dorm beds on Booking (that's the only option). Upon arrival we asked the owner if a private room is available, we got lucky, paid a little extra and got a private room +WC. The room itself is not the best, but it was nice to have a private room. The owner lady was wonderful, and the menu dinner was awesome 👍. Very good breakfast to get everyone on the road. The location is fantastic, right on the Camino Primativo.

This was maybe the most efficient, perfect studio apartment yet. Super clean, modern and well lit. We showed up early and our hostess stored our bags while we went for lunch. The combo washer/dryer was outstanding after 9 days on the Camino and we opted for some light snacks from the grocery for dinner after a large lunch for which the kitchen was well suited. Best air-conditioning we have had in Spain!

Very nice boutique hotel. The front desk person was very charming and helped me with some issues because I arrived with a head cold. Also needed some directions. The room was small, but the bed was comfortable and there was a small desk. The shower in the bedroom was unbelievable as it was like a spa shower with multiple streams of water. That was the best part of the room.

No complaints at all about this place, the walled city is about 10 minutes walk away. The apartment was very spacious, friendly staff who spoke English. And a real bonus for motorcyclist is there secure underground garage. We highly recommend the friendly staff, great drink food and unlimited continental breakfast in Cafe Victoria which is attached to the hotel.

There is a restaurant very close by, run by the same family, which was excellent. The food and service was far better than restaurants in larger places. Our room and bed was clean and very comfortable. Our host was a very busy man as he is the ‘major domo’ of the mini supermarket and hotel as well as being a very good host.

Really big room and bed, hard to find anything like it in Spain at this price range, they were like in a hotel in the US. The mini-fridge in the room was silent, again not a given in most hotels. The breakfast buffet had a good fruit selection. Also, there is plenty of free parking around 100m from the hotel.

The apartment was perfect for the two of us - big, clean, very well equipped kitchen, and all the appliances you could wish for, including washer and dryer. The location was great. It was within the walls, a short walk from all the main sights of Lugo. A big grocery and the municipal market were nearby.

Wonderful people , lovely dinner and breakfast. Friendly cats and dog. Two sweet kittens. Please visit this, it’s worth breaking the Camino between Castroverde and Lugo just for this. Well signposted off the Camino. Cosy fire as it was suddenly really cold. My room was lovely.
