Breakfast was fine but we were at the end of the season when we think lots was closing down so probably not the same as in high season.
Location was ok for us as we have family there but would not visit otherwise as nothing to do.

If you want peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings, this is perfect. The attached cafe and restaurant are also very good, but to travel further afield, it is best to hire a car. Cabo de Palos is lovely, with very good restaurants and stunning coastal walks.

This tiny resort with a small beach promenade is hemmed in by a huge urbanisation stretching for a mile. Other than the El Secreto restaurant and café there were no other eateries within walking distance other than one restaurant which never opened during our five day stay. We were aware of this limitation before our visit so it didn't really impact on us as the local Spar store was within walking distance where you can buy food to make a decent snack type meal in your apartment. We rented a car which was essential to visit restaurants in other towns. For such a huge urbanisation I never saw a bus service to anywhere else and never saw a taxi company. It is a very isolated resort.

Came to the Mar Menor to spend time snorkeling.
Came to the Mar Menor to spend time snorkeling. Was not disappointed, easy access off the beaches and kayaked out to one of islands. Sea grass meadows and encrusted rocks and algae interspaced with sandy bottom. Plenty of smallish fish and critters if you keep still and watch. Vis was ok considering end of summer and some windy days. Kept me fully engaged. Also good for birds round the shore. Great to meet some locals and read about other residents working to ensure the Menor ecosystem is cared.

The accommodation was better than I expected - a lovely big room with a well-equipped kitchenette, a dining table, a lovely new bathroom and a couple of easy chairs. I had a side sea view and although the window overlooked a restaurant there was no noise disturbance. There was a big roof terrace with loungers overlooking the sea.
Huge room facing the beach. All the basics are there. The kitchen in our studio room is sufficiently well equipped. Fridge is probably the coolest out of all the hotel/ apartment we hv stayed in. Easy free parking right outside the property without having to reserve.
There are 3 eateries fr cafe, pizza, to Mediterranean right below and hotel guests enjoy discount eating there. Else a supermarket just 1minute walk where we grabbed some bread and cold cuts.
Check-in was a breeze at reception and the friendly hotel manager showed me the room and facilities. we had a great view of the ocean and the Malecon. Parking was also free and close to the hotel. The room was equipped with a kitchenette that was great to have for our two day stay. The hotel was located right across from the beach and the hotel itself has a great restaurant.
Small but very nice, sunny apartment with large windows, right on the beach.
The local restaurants and bars were also open in winter. A nice touch from the hotel: there are discounts for guests in the restaurant on the beach and in the nearest bar.
We are familiar with Mar de Cristal and we've been going since 2011.
We've stayed at an Antillia apartment before and they're beautiful.
Fab location especially if you have a car.
Great location on the beautiful clear waters of the Mar de Cristal. A relatively tranquil area, the best beach with palm trees for shade, very nice helpful staff.
