This place is a little gem. A beautiful old stone building renovated to provide sizable rooms. Very clean. Staff friendly and helpful. They want you to enjoy your stay. They made a special effort to prepare us a plant based meal for dinner. Discover it for yourselves and enjoy.

I loved the City it was clean and well maintained.
I loved the City it was clean and well maintained. I got lost and a kind Spanish man helped me get back on the Camino.
This man walked with me for 4 kilometres until we found the Camino TRAIL.
Ponferrada the City should mark the Camino trail better than they have. Even signage within the city saying “Camino that way. A few other city residents did not have a clue on how to get back to the Camino. The Knights Templar Castle was a sight to see.

Wonderful Temple knights history, well described during castle visit. Impressive past and great attraction on Camino de Santiago for the thousands of Pilgrims now walking or cycling. An important part of old Spanish history.

We loved staying in the middle of the Old Town with the Castle just 5 minutes' walk away. People were friendly and there are lots of restaurants and cafes to choose from. The drives into the nearby towns and mountains were fabulous. Perfect weather this time of year and not too many tourists. A great place to stop for the many Pilgrims on the Camino trail.
The room was fine: spacious and clean (perhaps the wardrobe/closet could have been a little bit bigger), but essentially fine. The bathroom was not big, but enough for normal use (shower, no bathtub) and was also clean and modern. The area is quiet (not a noise during the night) and the bed was also fine. Breakfast is worth its cost (5 EUR): coffee/tea, orange juice, toast, marmalade, pastries... Besides, we had a problem with one of the hotel key cards and the staff was very helpful.
There was absolutely nothing to like about this hotel. A cross between The Shining and a horror movie. No food on site, except a vending machine. No place to find a meal. Staff didn’t even try to help with that. We checked in, paid. Then the staff disappeared and we were unable to contact anyone for help. The place was deserted. We called a taxi and found better accommodation elsewhere.
This was a very modern, spacious, well appointed studio apartment, with kitchen facility including dishwasher. Very clean. Superb position, meters from the main square and other places of interest in Ponferrada. Extra pleased with the availability of laundry facility on site and at no extra cost. Helpful host an added bonus!
Perfect. Large, clean, comfortable, great shower and spa bath. Staff brilliant, location very good for the old town. Excellent buffet breakfast and secure motorcycle parking. All at a more than reasonable cost.
The best hotel and room we have stayed in. P
This places seemed like a hotel being used as an albergue. But we were very happy to check in because our day of walking from Foncebadon had been very long and very, very hot. This albergue is AIR CONDITIONED. It was great.
