We had such a wonderful welcome when we arrived soaked to the skin after a bitterly cold and wet journey of 35+ miles on The Via de Plata. The wonderful lady on reception could see the terrible state we were in and was so kind and compasionate to us she allowed us to go to the room and get a hot shower and change our clothes before we offically checked in. We were too late for lunch but the lovely gentleman in the bar served us a delicous Burger!! Our bikes were stored in a great place. So much of this Parador was good. On our first morning the breakfast team were delightful. On my birthday the lady brought me a chocolate brownie with a candle on top, that was very kind.

Good location. Nice building but poorly maintained and not very clean.
Beds comfortable. Bathroom acceptable. No allocated parking - this may be available on-street but may be a distance away. Breakfast definitely not worth having.

It was a holiday, so many places were closed. Including getting in to hotel. I had to call for code, which was fine. I get an immediate response. Never saw anyone that worked there, that was kind of interesting. Very cool old building. Would have liked to be there for the farmers market on Fridays.

Puebla de Sanabria is a beautiful, historic town. There are monumental buildings, alongside traditional houses. The river is a most attractive feature, with well tended gardens, where visitors can picnic or simply relax. It is difficult to find parking, especially on market days.

Puebla is usually just a stop on the RENFE train journey from Madrid to Santiago de Compostela. If you decide to stop there overnight or for a weekend, make a taxi reservation in advance! It's a tiny village perched on a steep hill dominated by a castle. You can walk around the castle and the plaza Mayor in half an hour. The views are exceptional! There are a few excellent hotels on the peak and a couple of good restaurants. Do not expect to get dinner before the 9pm opening hour. It's quiet during the week and you can walk to the village below to explore. The streets are extremely steep and could be difficult for elder people to negotiate.

We enjoyed the stay in this old hotel very much. The rooms were confortable and perfect size for a family travelling with children. We also loved the location (I saw some comments who did not like to walk to the village, but for us it was great, we liked very much the 400m-walk to the village). Beautiful nature.
Fabulous apartment! Comfortable, clean, spacious, good value and a great view of the castle on the hill. Convenient location to the wonderful old town of Puebla de Sanabria and short car ride to both Lake Sanabria to the north and Bragança castle in Portugal to the south. Highly recommend!
A perfect location in the picture postcard Puebla de Sanabria. Very comfortable super large double bed, and a spick and span bathroom that had the best walk in shower so far on our Iberian motorcycle tour. Our balcony overlooked the main street through town. Highly recommended.
The place is perfect for anyone wishing to explore Puebla de Sanabria itself, or just as a short stop on the Camino Sanabres. The host is super helpful. The apartment is spacious, well equipped and close to shops, restaurants etc. Good place even for longer stays.
Beautiful views, lovely immaculately clean spacious light and airy hotel. Good food in the restaurant/bar (we had lunch & dinner), free parking and lots of it. Easy walk to the river and up into the beautifully preserved old town.
