The hotel is simple but clean and comfortable. Good value for the price. The person managing the hotel was very helpful and gave useful guidance about the surrounding area.
Most rooms have a view down into Segovia, including the Roman aqueduct and the cathedral (shame about the nearby concrete silo, but hey, who's complaining.) Food interesting. Staff very professional. They cater for coach parties and functions, and have a catering school. Aiming at gastronomic market. The food in the cafeteria can be quite simple, but it's good. Extensive wine list.

This was a lovely little village to stay in just outside Madrid. It was perfect to enjoy the snowy day. We walked down to the puente de perdon and the bosque finlandes, which took about half an hour each way. We also walked up to nearby hills, where we got a great view of the town. Head to the end of Calle Jaramilla going south, take a right at the municipal pool, then head along the road through the fields and keep going! I would also recommend Meson Paranche on the main sqaure by the town hall, for food and wine! We got the bus from Madrid (Plaza Castilla) which took just over 2 hours.

Excellent small town in the mountains around Madrid, with a great landscape. I have been in other towns near Madrid and Rascafría is one of the best. There are several nature walks around Rascafría that are just a gift for the body.
The hotel was an idyllic authentic stay that matched the charm and style of the town itself. The hostess was very friendly, attentive and kind, and given that we only spoke English and minimal Spanish, we will managed to have many lovely conversations. She made us feel very welcome and the breakfast was delicious. I would highly recommend to anyone wishing a tranquil stay in Rascafria, particularly to tourists who can speak limited Spanish but are still seeking local experiences.
The accommodation was very comfortable . Large characterful rooms. The hotel had some good spaces but a little too dark. I think we were out of season as we were the only people there. Unfortunately many of the local restaurants were closed for holidays or just opened for lunch and not dinner so that was disappointing. It is a good base to go hiking in the nearby national park area but be prepared for not much going on in the village - very local.
Maribel is the best host we have ever had in our travels and we will make an effort to go back to her wonderful home and this gorgeous mountainous area which we enjoyed so much. Rascafria also exceeded our expectations - beautiful walking paths, small but vibrant village, and many other pluses. We loved our time there and fell in love with Rocky :). Thank you Maribel - you are a very special human being.
Casa Granero is a beautiful historic building with contemporary design features and Rascafria is a fabulous small town with great hiking. I have stayed here three times and love it! Bea, the owner, is an interesting and perceptive person and serves a fantastic, generous breakfast every morning. She is town councilwoman and has a wealth of knowledge about the town.
Lovely little boutique hotel, everything was fine, good instructions about checking in and parking before arrival, nice spacious room, good breakfast and friendly staff. The little village is very nice and locals friendly. Nice walk to the monastery and picturesque mountain area. Staff was very kind and provided earlier breakfast on our departure day.
The price was literally like a HOTEL and is really like a B&B, the rooms are really small but the place is really nice, is not in the centre of the town but a walk of 5/10 minutes you will be in the principal square. Has Parking and this is perfect because without a car is impossible to get there.
the location was great and staff was super accommodating and friendly. It is old but clean, our room got cleaned every morning which was great! It was great to be able to take our dog :). Other than that, this hotel has the bare minimum so I'm not sure why it is not cheaper.
The room was lovely. The hotel itself is located right in the centre of Rascafria. The hotel has secure parking but there was a car park right outside the front door. I felt my motorcycle would be completely safe there as it is small country town.
The hotel had real charm and was in a perfect location to explore the mountains. The hosts were incredibly friendly and were helpful in recommending things to do in the area.
The hotel is simple but clean and comfortable. Good value for the price. The person managing the hotel was very helpful and gave useful guidance about the surrounding area.
