The location was slightly out from the town centre but perfect for walking up to the castle. Loved the terrace where we sat and watched the sun set. Ian did a lovely breakfast and was very helpful with restaurant recommendations and how best to walk to the castle.

This is a good place to go if you want to explore the surrounding area. There are lots of walks and waterfalls, villages to visit, reservoirs and so on. We had a lovely time visiting the suggestions on google maps. However, I only live just over an hour from Rugat. I think I would choose somewhere else if it was more than a long weekend. The town itself is just a sleepy village. The walking was lovely though.
