Telde is a massive place, so much to see and do. The walks through the old town was lovely and relaxing, walking through, up and down narrow streets. It was devine. We love visiting museums too and there are a few in Telde. Plenty of places to eat. We saw a place where people were waiting to go in, so another day in Telde, we went to into "Lucky Luke" what a find. Absolutely delicious food, friendly staff and competitively priced; will definitely visit there again. We travelled by bus and really enjoyed this experience. Its a very inexpensive way to travel. Loved it. We have hired cars in the past, but on the bus, you can properly sight see as you don't have to concentrate on the driving or parking! The Canarian people were so helpful and friendly when we asked for directions etc. Brill holiday.

Telde is a populous city with a small village infrastructure. There are lots of stores to shop, but basically you have to travel for everything else. The closest beach is roughly 4-6 km away, but there isn't any direct bus routes to it, so you need a car. Same goes for the smaller towns around the island if you want to visit them. However, if you rent a car, then you'll face to major parking issue in the city. Many of the locals don't bother to have any car because of it. If you want to have an "on the beach" type of vacation I would suggest some other locations more on south and/or east, where you can walk to the ocean. If you want to explore the island by car I would recommend to choose a smaller settlement, where potentially the parking is more convenient.

Telde is the ideal place to get into the Canarian culture.

Telde is the ideal place to get into the Canarian culture. It is still a big city, but a lot less touristic compared to Las Palmas. There is nightlife and people are very welcoming. Sometimes Las Palmas feels like a fairly expensive tourist trap. Telde is the opposite. Very affordable.

Lovely little village with a smattering of simple, but good restaurants. The architecture is very pretty and the village square beautiful with a gorgeous church and plenty of mature trees. Definitely worth a night or two on your trip to the canaries.
