Complejo Enoturístico Finca La Estacada, hotel in Uclés

Finca La Estacada specialises in wine, with its own vineyard, wine cellar and a gourmet restaurant. It has a heated outdoor swimming pool, 2 paddle tennis courts and a spa.

Easy to find, secure parking, lovely restaurant with reasonably priced food and wine. The wine was exceptional at the Finca. We did the tour and also used the spa, both of which were excellent.

The village is like out of a fairy tale, with walls and impressive monastesry looming over the plain. It remains quite untouched by any ugly incongruent modern buildings or houses, as if it has stopped in time centuries ago. We were told you could visit the walls however we could not see how to get up there. Looks as though things are still under restoration. We did not get to go inside monastery, because we were told it was open to visits at 3 pm but when we got there they said you could only do tours as set times. No proble, good excuse to go back. Even if we did not go in monastery we got to go in shop, where a wonerful man had us, and everyone else taste various cheeses & spirits from the region.
