Lovely little town.
Lovely little town. The zoo is definitely the main attraction but the ZipLine park is also fantastic. Our little kids loves the zoo and it was very well designed (bathrooms on the “track”, little wagons to pull the children in if they get tired. Near by there is also the Tuurin Kyläkauppa which was a fun place for the day. There are also nice nature paths and walks quite close to the center and the lakes have the possibility to rent boats and or balance boards.Ilona-ElizabethFinland - 8.0Scored 8.0
We really only saw the zoo and stayed overnight.
We really only saw the zoo and stayed overnight. Pandas were so amazing to see. Zoo itself is nice and spread out over the whole reserve so an enjoyable 3-4 km walk. Good facilities in Ähtäri township for shopping or general life needs.

Ähtäri zoo is not like the real zoo, its more like wooden...
Ähtäri zoo is not like the real zoo, its more like wooden park where live average animals of the region, plus Panda which we wanted to see most, she was sleeping I will not come herw again and as by me that price 36eur is toooo high to pay for walking in the wood

Shared mini kitchen with handmade tea blend, instant and regular coffee, and fresh fruit available. Everything was very clean. Great library and TV room, with various board games to be played. Everything was thought to the dot when selecting wallpapers, decor and furniture. Excellent breakfast with freshly baked bread. Bathrooms with free toiletries from small and local brands. Definitely will join the crowd of returning customers when booking my next trip to Ähtäri. ❤️

The staff were extremely welcoming, the meals in the large common area were smooth and easy, the room had all one needs, there are some trails that lead into the forests, along the shore, quickly.

It's a perfect house for families with kids, my kids loved the playroom and the outdoors. The host was super helpful and easy to reach.
