Mieka and Jan were wonderful hosts. They recommended and booked restaurants for us and prepared a wonderful meal another night. They were great company. From its exterior, unexpected nice hotel. Spacey room, very clean, including sanitair. Excellent shower as well.
The food served is tasty en of high and honest quality, and definitely sufficient even for serious eaters. The owner is a good chef, his wife a perfect waitress. Besides that, they're extremely friendly and helpful.
Located in Jumeaux, just a 5-minute walk from the Allier River, Le Bravard offers hotel accommodation with a bar, restaurant and terrace. Issoire is only a 20-minute drive away.

Very friendly and helpful owners. Excellent value for money with evening meal, bed and breakfast for one person at 45 eu. They even offered a secure garage for my motorcycle, which is very thoughtful. Of note: you need to pay in cash, and the nearest ATM is in the next village (3 km) so be prepared; the rooms are up a narrow staircase; there is limited parking in front of the hotel, more in surrounding streets; there is a little supermarket 2 minutes walk away from the hotel; there is no obvious other restaurant choice in the village (there might be a pizza delivery service, I didn't investigate).
Situated in Vertolaye, just a 35-minute drive south of Thiers, Hôtel Restaurant de la Dore offers modern accommodation and a restaurant serving local specialities.
