Everything!
A very nice traditional/catalan style appartment in the heart of Banyuls, my favourite place in the Mediterranian.
Location is great, just 1 street away from the sea. Beatiful street and peacefull environment. Nice neighbors as well. Close to Banyuls “passeig” (main city street) with all their restaurants, etc. Very easy to get to the appartment by train, bus, car…great transport location as well.
The appartment is perfectly well equiped: kitchen, microwave, oven, stove, washing machine, iron, etcetc. There’s also a fridge!
2 rooms and confortable beds. There’s a nice, sunny balcony with a small table and lots of natural light throughout the house. Is very easy to clean and to mantain tidy and in order for a longer stay (many days in a row).
Also the appartment is very beautiful, traditionally decorated and with the essence of an old town representing Banyuls and its Catalan heritage. It’s exactly like going back to Gaudi’s or Picasso time!
The rooms to sleep are really nice, confortable and special. In the living room the owners left us a welcome detail consisting on traditional Catalan food, this was lovely! The living room is really warm and cozy, ideal for reading, relax and have a good time.
Keep in mind is a traditional appartment (old style) so don’t look for modern “luxuries” that can keep away the original spirit of the place (no air con, the bathroom is on one of the rooms, there’s another separated bathroom outside in the balcony and a super cozy hidden bathtube room in the living room). That’s the way this places were built in the time and how their spirit is. I live back home in a similar house and it’s exactly this way.
The appartment it’s a second floor and of course as any old traditional flat there’s no lift, just stairs. It shouldn’t be a problem but if you are on a injury or with special needs (wheelchair etc) here it might not be your most confortable place for your situation.

A nice little town in a beautiful setting - definitely not as touristy (or as scenic) as Collioure but we appreciated that it was less crowded and that the marine nature reserve was right nearby (great for scuba and snorkeling!)

Pleasant town with a broad pebble beach.
Pleasant town with a broad pebble beach. The city centre has plenty of restaurants for visitors. A signature feature of Banyuls are the various wine-makers, who have their production facilities or shops in town. You can always stop by for a tasting. Banyuls is a great base for exploring the coast and sea around it. The coastal hiking path leads to further beaches to the North (e.g. Paulilles) or the South (e.g. close to Cerbère). All these places are great for snorkeling. The coastal hiking path leads through vineyards or the local flora consisting of rosemary, fennel, cork oaks etc. Banyuls is also a good base for diving.

Great location. Very scenic. Staff was wonderful. I definitely recommend at least one dinner at the hotel restaurant.
Also, take the Petit Train into the hillside. The 8 Euro fare also gets you six glasses of wine.
We were very happy with our visit.

It’s beautifully located with exceptional views over the Mediterranean. The sunrises are spectacular. Our suite was superb and the spa bath soothed aching muscles after long hikes along the peninsula. The restaurant is superb, the breakfasts delicious. The staff are welcoming and helpful. Housekeeping is top notch as rooms are quickly cleaned each day. There is nothing quite like this hotel anywhere along this coastline.
Laurent was just the most lovely and hospitable host, very welcoming friendly and smiley. The room was exceptional, big comfy bed and a lovely terrace with views over the mountains. It was a 3 to 4 minute walk in to Banyuls-sur-Mer itself with all its restaurants and bars, but still supremely quiet when you returned. Wine tasting was a treat and the wines produced onsite are exceptional.
Beautifully situated hotel with a lovely view to wake up to. The room was a nice size and laid out well. The gentleman behind the reception desk was very accommodating. The breakfast was just passable. Bowls of dates and other things, but without serving spoons which encourages people to use their hands. It is a gorgeous property, priced very fairly.
The views are amazing from his hotel, also at dinner time. The chef of Le Miradou is great! and all the personal in general are very friendly and helpful. In addition, it is pet friendly, so you do not have to renounce to spending chilling out time with your non-human love ones.
I have been years coming to this hotel, I recommend it.
We really loved this hotel. The views from the room were spectacular, the pool area is lovely and the staff were friendly and helpful. The mattress was firm and very comfy and the room was great. There was a huge selection at breakfast and, holy moly, if you're a cheese fan, the cheese trolley at dinner was insanely good.
Very comfy and spacious apartment, fully equipped with lovely terrace! Home away from home. Tasteful authentic interior, modern kitchen and bathroom. Very quiet and only 5 min. walk from city center and beach. Very pleasant and human contact with host.
We liked our room, the breakfasts, the parking, and the pool. All staff were friendly and helpful, and moving around the hotel was easy. Good location, although we were glad we'd paid the extra for a room with a view of the ocean.
The staff was super friendly, the location was just ideal, right in front of the sea.. and the room was very clean and practical. The room was quiet, and the whole athmosphare of the hotel was really cultured and harmonious.
The apartment was well equipped and warm (we didn't need to put the heating on in early February). The bed was very comfortable. Lovely view of the sea from the terrace and great for coastal walks around Banyuls-sur-Mer.
Just a traditional French hotel which is rare to find nowadays. We loved it and would return anytime. Don’t expect perfect facilities but enjoy the atmosphere and the position near the beach and the history of the place
Nice, cozy hotel with friendly staff. We had a problem with our booking and they solved it very quickly. Location is up the hill but it is compensated by extraordinary views. Very good breakfast.
Close proximity to the Beach. The Hotel is directly on the seafront. The owner gave us lots of information on the town. The breakfast was good with extra cups of coffee at no extra charge.
Great room with a view of the Mediterranean and 2 balconies.
Very helpful and friendly owners.
Right across the street from the beach & playgrounds.
Easy walking to great restaurant.
