What a fabulous place. Of only three rooms in the inn, the accessible room was exceptional compared with any I have been to anywhere in the UK. As a wheelchair user, the hotel is superb. As a lover of good food, the hotel is also superb. It is in a very small village, next to a forest and the peace and quiet was so much appreciated.

This property is stunning! The gentleman explained that it is 300 years old. It had such character and the insides have been renovated to a modern style which compliments the age of the property. I have seen other comments about rude staff, we did not experience this at all. The gentleman that greeted us was very friendly and helpful.

Everything! The hosts were lovely and SO helpful. They managed to get us on to the nearby restaurant, despite it being fully booked.
The house and garden were breathtaking! We had our 9 year grand daughter with us and she loved it there, as did we.
The owners haven’t been running the property for long but you wouldn’t know it. So professionally run and so welcoming. There was home made yoghurt, along with many other yummy delights, for breakfast and there was chocolate in our room.
The parking is just outside the property but it felt very safe. The village is a must visit, too.

The food was excellent and the room quiet and of a good size, The surrounding countryside was pleasant but not particularly scenic. We visited in November so it was not applicable, but the terrace looked very inviting and ought to be great for sitting outside on a summers evening.
We have stayed at numerous similar properties and indeed once owned our own farmhouse in SW France. The standard of accommodation and comfort at Bellenaves was lower than normal. If you are seeking a rural retreat, where tranquilty matters more than comfort, you may find what is on offer to your satisfaction.
