A beautiful building; exactly what you would expect a rural French chateau to look-like. Turrets and sweeping grounds. Comfortable room, good sleep, decent shower, excellent dinner (I did not have breakfast). I did not use the pool or spa so no comment about that.

We arrived unplanned at this wonderful location after a previous booking at another establishment was totally unsuitable. Such a delight to see such a super place with very welcoming staff. We spoke both in French and English so it is great for guests who don't speak the language, to know that it is a bilingual hotel. The restaurant was fabulous, being sophisticated with very friendly staff offering a superb service. The food was exquisite for appreciative diners. Had a newly refurbished bedroom, with very comfortable beds and a modern bathroom/power shower

The location is excellent. Facing a lake with swans. Reminiscent of the world of The Sound of Music. The food is good and highly recommended. All the staff are very helpful. The hotel facilities are a bit dated, but the rest of the hotel is so good that it makes you forget that.

Au Pied du Chateau is located right in the heart of Bourdeilles which has a couple of little convenience stores, restaurants and bars. The house was clean when we arrived and it is well set up for cooking and relaxing. The bed was very comfortable and the wifi was extremely reliable. The Bourdeilles vibe is very friendly and we couldn’t fault Jim, the owner of the house, who responded quickly to any messages. The welcome information book provided by Jim is also very thorough. It shows you how to work appliances and also gives you tourist information about the surrounding area. I wouldn’t hesitate to return to Au Pied du Chateau and recommend it highly to anyone interested in visiting the area.

Set in Montagrier, in a historic building, 5 km from Bourdeilles Castle, Château de Gouyas is a recently renovated bed and breakfast with free bikes and garden.

I loved everything about our stay here. The decor was beautifully luxe. Our bedroom was so spacious and there is even a lovely chair by the window to enjoy some reading. The chateau is very serene and a great place to decompress from city life. However if you do need to connect to the outside world the wifi is strong here, I found out when i had some emergeny work emails i needed to answer! There are several community rooms downstairs, each with their own unique charm. We had fun in the game room in the evening. One of the bathrooms downstairs had a gorgeous swan fixture that i want to snag. (Shhhhh!) The dining room was perfect where we had our delicious breakfast. I loved all the jams that came with our bread. The fresh fruit was super sweet, the pears were my favorite! The hosts Dominique & Shelby were the cherry on top of our stay at Chateau Gouyas. They were so friendly & thoughtful. They had many tips on where to visit & eat in the area. One night was not enough for us. We can't wait to come back!!!!
