The location is excellent. Facing a lake with swans. Reminiscent of the world of The Sound of Music.
The food is good and highly recommended.
All the staff are very helpful.
The hotel facilities are a bit dated, but the rest of the hotel is so good that it makes you forget that.

This was our second visit to this hotel and again it didn’t disappoint. The lady on reception was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay again if the need arises. The room was very clean and had everything we needed.

Place near the motorway, parking just close to the room. Super clean. Attention to details : Richard had switched on the light on the heater for my arrrival. It was also easy to get the keys although the reception was closed. And Richard is super friendly la cerise sur le gâteau.
Chancelade is great for shopping, lots of retail. Its close to Perigueux which is a big city with a great old pedestrian area with good restaurants. The Indian Curry restaurant, Chez Manija, was good with terrific service. If you want spicy food you have to order Xtra spicey.

Chancelade has a wonderful abbey close to the hotel, but the most interesting:it is located in a quite suburb of Périgueux, enabling to park the car safely, but very close to the interesting city
The local restaurant is excellent, but possibility to go downtown
From the moment we were met by the owner at reception we knew this would be a good stop over. Rooms were very comfortable and all services were good. Hotel is slightly in need of an update but for me this added to the charm. It's in an amazing location with a large lake to the rear. Hard to believe that you are only 200mtrs from a major road such is the calm and quiet. Dinner was excellent and service high.
Everything at this hotel is as beautiful as the photos show.
What the photos don't show you is how lovely the staff are. I felt like royalty, they were so kind and helpful.
The restaurant serves delicious food and good wine. The staff all speak English and were very kind in helping me with my attempts at speaking French.
I wish I could just live here - this hotel is just wonderful.
Great location with parking at the front of the hotel. Really friendly especially with my bad French. Didn't have a bar as such but we were able to get a couple of beers. We had dinner which was three courses with a couple of choices, very tasty. Breakfast was also good with the biggest pastries I've ever seen. Good value for money. Plus the kissing swans were a nice touch.
Friendly staff and helpful staff, easy check in, everything was clean in the bedroom and bathroom, the room was a good size for the price as was the bathroom. Massive comfortable bed. Free parking outside the hotel. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that.
Location of the hotel on the edge of the lake is lovely
Tranquility of the location and ability to have a great night's sleep
Friendliness and politeness of the staff.
Our lakeside terrace room.
Nice breakfast and evening meals.
Dog friendly.
This was our 2nd stay at this fabulous hotel - we stayed there last year for a week.
Friendly staff, gorgeous chateau with a lot of history; great swimming pool, excellent upscale restaurant with exception cuisine and top selection of wines.
The quality of the facilities matches the pricing. The big balcony was great. This hotel is not expensive due to its slightly worn out state. But its a convenient spot and nice surroundings so we enjoyed it.
The restaurant of the Hotel is excellent and the staff very friendly - they served us even at our late arrival with no complaint with excellent food! They are very accommodating also to our dogs :-)
We wanted to have dinner at the Bistrot de la Verrière (at the hotel) and for this purpose it was a perfect solution! The complex looks charming and there is also a beautiful swimming pool.
Stayed for 1 night whilst travelling south. The room was spacious and clean. We stayed at the hotel for dinner and it was very good value and tasty. Lovely pool. Would recommend.
