The grounds of the hotel are truly beautiful, we really liked that the hotel was spread across multiple buildings, it made each room feel very private. There is a beautiful garden and small farm where some of the restaurants ingredients are sourced from.
Very accommodating of our dog and baby, we requested a ground floor room and given the age of our baby were very conveniently given a room tucked in the corner so we didn’t feel like we were disturbing anyone else when the baby woke in the night. There was also a small courtyard outside our room so we could enjoy a drink outside after our baby went to sleep.
Although we didn’t use it, we did see a high chair in the bar area. We didn’t see a single high chair in any French restaurant! There is also a lovely children’s play area next to the pool and the pool is warm enough for babies.
Every single member of staff was so friendly and helpful. They managed to squeeze us in at the bistro on a French public holiday, and accommodated our request to sit in the bar incase the baby was noisy. The staff were extremely helpful in helping get a same day vet appointment for us after I accidentally booked the wrong day with my limited French. We were even given some plates and cutlery to enjoy a picnic in the grounds on our last night, and were very kindly given wine on check out to remember our stay.
The pool area is really nice and the pool is warm. I liked that it was separate from the main building so no rooms would be disturbed by guests visiting the pool. We were lucky enough to be the only people at the pool area when we were there, but when we had a look while looking around the grounds it did look quite busy on one of the days.
The food is excellent, as is the wine list. We dined in the bistro one night and from the bistro menu in the bar on another. If we didn’t have a baby, we would have dined in the restaurant, but it felt a little too formal for us. We are pescatarian and found the menu sufficient.
Located in an 18th century building, just 400 metres from the Château de Chenonceau and 32 km from Beauval Zoo, this hotel offers an outdoor swimming pool and a restaurant and bar.

Clean, comfortable. We arrived late and called to give them our arrival time so they asked if we would like to book dinner which was great. Nice restaurant too.

Very convenient location, price not cheap because of popularity fo Chenonceau. Huge room for the 4 of us. Breakfast was good (although also not cheap and not for extras, like cooked items)

The owner was super-welcoming and helpful, and adapted the breakfast when he discovered I needed a gluten-free option. Really comfortable kingsize bed in a spacious room, with efficient air-conditioning. Great location within walking distance of the chateau, which meant that we could visit first thing in the morning and avoid the crowds.
This lovely residence sits quietly between the famous chateaus of Amboise and Chenonceaux.

Plan to spend a whole day to discover the castle and gardens. You can ask for a stamp on your wrist to leave the grounds and return within the same day, so you don't have to eat overpriced food with thousands of tourists. You can get sandwiches at the local bakery for picnic.
We highly recommend taking the audio guide: it must be booked in advance, as they tend to run out of them. The audio guide has several extra recordings that provide interesting info (e.g., food in the Renaissance times, sleeping advice from Ambroise Paré, the WWI and WWII periods, etc).
We stayed at the Clos Medicis: great location, great room with comfy beds. highly recommended!

The Chateau and gardens are amazing!
The Chateau and gardens are amazing! The only detraction was that our visit was on a very hot Sunday afternoon and the number of visitors made it crowded. Still, the flow of the audio tour through the Chateau moved along. The online reservation system worked fine.
A huge number of kayakers and boaters in the River Cher made photo opportunities challenging. Despite these issues it was a great experience and a tremendous learning opportunity regarding the history.

The Chateau was fun and interesting, obviously old and well taken care of, and the walk through the rooms was well designed. It was crowded considering distancing requirements, but you could make your way to all the rooms without a problem. The grounds were the more interesting part of the visit and we could have spent more time exploring them. Also, if you've got time, there's a bridge down the river (east) from the Chateau and there's a number of different options for boats and canoes to see the Chateau from the river.

We took our time and visited the interior of Chateau Chenonceau for 3 hours and exterior gardens and maze for 1.5. Can definitely spend a whole day there when the weather is nicer and flowers in bloom. Exceptionally kept and restored with an excellent audio guide. A must see even if you only have a day or two in Loire. We ate at Auberge du bon laborer amazing dinner and breakfast.

The chateau is the main attraction.
The chateau is the main attraction. Chenonceaux itself is centred around a main street with a variety of bars, restaurants and hotels with varied prices. We ate at a restaurant/brasserie promoting its burgers - modern decor and very friendly service. All these places are walking distance from the chateau.
Excellent choice for everyone who wants to visit Chateau Chenonceau and is looking for superb quality of stay mixed with good price. The owner was super welcoming, room was good and comfortable. The breakfast was served with local / home-made products that tasted exceptionally good. As most will come by car - there is a good parking next to house that makes moving in and out easy.
Excellent and very good value breakfast, Isabelle and Patrick were excellent hosts, and Le Roi Coq is in a beautiful location very close to Chateau Chenonceau so a great place to stay and visit the Chateau.
A tip if you want a restaurant is that they get full so booking is recommended , Isabelle and Patrick will give useful advise on which to avoid and value for money.
A lovely hotel in almost all aspects. Our room was a good size, the bed was very comfortable. Parking was perfect just outside. The hotel pool was fantastic and in a hidden garden over the road. The bistro restaurant was excellent and the service fabulous. The hotel is also very easy walking distance to the Chenonceaux Chateau.
Excellent location tucked away behind the Creperie on the Main Street in Chenonceaux a few minutes walk from the castle. Lovely large room with tea and coffee making facilities, sofa and spacious bathroom. Nelly and her husband were fabulous hosts and the breakfast was excellent. Highly recommend!
Charming and beautiful old hotel within a five minutes walk to Chenonceaux
Spacious room with a very comfortable bed and a lovely little bistro set to sit outside with my coffee. I didn't get a chance to use the pool because it was raining; but the gardens were lovely.
Good breakfast
A great place to stay in Chenonceaux. Quite and well-decorated place with an amazing breakfast with natural products made every day by the owner. Super helpful staff. She helped us with the best castles to visit and the fastest routes.
There is so much to like about this property. Perfect location, beautiful buildings, well appointed rooms, serene gardens, great restaurant and incredibly friendly staff. This was our favorite stay during our three weeks in France.
! We had three persons, so we appreciated the extra large room with twbo double beds. It was conveniently located near the Château de Chenonceau. All the amenities made it a very comfortable stay. The Creperie is also fabulous!
Location was great. Room was spacious and a recently renovated bath/shower.
Quite location. Has a good restaurant associated with the hotel across the streeet.
Within easy walking distance to the Chenonceaux Chateaux.
Romantic-like hôtel with terrace, gardens, pool opened as of May and a very nice suite like room 28 that had a lobby before the room. Attentive staff and lots of parking in back.
5 minute walk to Chateau.
The hotel is advertising Restaurant Swimming Pool and we’ll maintained gardens. This hotel has not had any of these for over 2 years. Bookings.com is giving false information. The site should be changed
The hotel was charming right in the heart of Chenonceaux. Our rooms were comfortable and the pool was nice. The dinner we had at the hotel was the best meal we had all weekend. Delicious salmon.
The staff were exceedingly pleasant and helpful. The location was perfect, quiet, and well equipped. The restaurant was among the best of our stay in France.
Comfortable and spacious room with an excellent bathroom and large bed. Our room was in an annexe to the hotel building itself. The breakfast was superb!
