Dinan is beautiful and we are sorry that we were only staying for 1 night as part of an organised event. We ate at La Terrasse by the old bridge on the river. The food and staff were excellent. We were able to walk from and to our apartment through the old town without problem. Just be aware that it is steep walking back up from the river to the pedestrianised area of the newer town.

Cafe culture, beautiful views, charming and vibrant town sq with weekly market. Tranquil. Too much to see in one day. Take a two hour electric hire boat with a picnic down the river. Eat Moules until you can't move and relax.

Charming place, especially the port.
Charming place, especially the port. No boats - while we were there -to St Malo because of the tides, as the river is tidal up to Dinan. The older part is almost traffic free. Fascinating shops, deli's, market on Thursday.

Loved Dinan, its so pretty , every street is pleasing to walk along, and has lots of attractions around the area. Plenty of great places to eat and drink or sit outside the cafe's and watch the world go by. St Malo is a 'must' to see, very similar to Dinan.

We only stayed two nights and didn't get a chance to fully explore but we liked what we saw. The apartment is in the Port area. It is really well equipped and the host was friendly and informative. A short walk away (but up a steep hill - so you deserve your first beer) is the medieval pedestrianized area of the town which has many bars and restaurants.
We plan to return another time.
Room was large ensuite with heated towel rail, hairdryer and good hot water. There was a good size wardrobe with hanging space and ample shelves which was within the wardrobe. Tea and coffee making facilities and ample sockets. The room overlooked the place duguesclin where there is plenty of parking and there is also parking in front of Hotel. The hotel is ideally situated to explore Dinan and there are many restaurants and bars within easy walking distance
Very elegant property set in a private position. Samantha met us at the gate and was the most convivial host, as was her partner Phillipe. Very nice bedroom and the house was beautifully furnished. Samantha had pre booked us a restaurant in Dinan, The Cantorbery, which I can highly recommend. Lovely breakfast in the morning too.
If I’m in the area again I’d definitely return to this hotel.
Oldest historical hotel with all the modern comforts (shower, bathtub, toilet) most tastefully integrated. Property exudes character in a town that is the must-see in Britanny. Prime location across the Basilica and short distance to city walls. Best croissants ever. Sophie, the owner, was most helpful and pointed us to the best restaurant on the trip (Les 3 Lunes).
A very comfortable stay in the very centre of Dinan. A surprisingly quiet location in an enclosed garden. Very well designed apartment with all the necessary mod cons. The host Natacha is very helpful, kindly helped us book some nice restaurants in town and made us very welcome. Beautiful stay, thank you!
Wonderful stay in Dinan! We wanted to add a third night but it was already booked. Samantha and Phillipe were so kind and helpful. They went out of their way to accomodate our daughter who joined us. Exceptionally clean, comfortable beds, delicious French breakfast and so beautiful. We hope to return!
We loved the bed, and cleanliness, and even though we arrvied around 11:30pm they welcomed us!
Also, we loved having parking lot, even though we did not use the sauna, but It looked great!
It was 5 minutes from dinan centre, and good place to go mont saint-michel, and saint malo.
In the heart of Dinan's old city, Hotel De La Porte Saint-Malo is perfectly situated to relax in after a busy day of exploring. The service was exceptional and everyone was amazingly friendly and helpful. Thank you.
The hotel is located in the old Dinan, in an old but well-maintained building. We had a family room, which was big and cozy. The breakfast was very well organized with respect to the pandemic and we felt quite safe.
The apartment location at the Impasse Reslou, a dead-end street in the heart of old city was great and it was nice and quiet there. There were no rooms at the main hotel, so we stayed at apartments nearby.
Central location in Dinan, great parking with pass from hotel, small but practical apartment, very clean. Town is great, nice public pool at Lehorn. Excellent beaches at 25 minutes drive (st Lunaire).
Great location in beautiful Dinan, two minutes from the river and old port. Lovely cottage, very well equipped and comfortable. Very helpful and friendly host. Highly recommended
