Château de Saint Paterne, hotel in Lalacelle

This beautiful castle set in the heart of a 25-acre park blends the pleasures of a Renaissance château with the comfort of a boutique hotel and was once a hideaway for Henry IV.

Beautiful château with spectacular rooms and yet very dog friendly. Fabulous grounds. Very attentive host, delicious food. We did not get to enjoy all the amenities as we arrived late on our way to Spain and left early. I regret it.

    The staff were helpful.

The staff were helpful. The restaurant, bar and reception areas were very nice and modern, clean and tidy. The original building where our room was located was tatty and needed some attention it smelled fusty. Our bed was hard and the window shutter was stuck and wouldn’t open fully. We thought the hotel was located in the forest but was on a busy main road. We ate in the restaurant which was very nice and also had breakfast which was ok.
