Warm welcome, thoughtful personnel when checking in. But it was super awkward and uncomfortable during the check-out that I had to stay there and wait until the front desk was assured by his colleague that I indeed had paid the extra fees for my dog… of course the front desk was only to find out that it’s just a misunderstanding aroused by by their own confusing invoice booking system, but i would do appreciate if I were not kept to witness the whole process of seemingly confrontation against me. A side note on the poor sound insulation in the hotel. There was a baby crying super loud during the night. I understand and I sympathize a lot for the suffering of the poor baby, but is it really an excuse for the hotel not being well equipped enough..? Not convinced…

The Stuff of Legends
Even though tranquil Le Mans has a well-preserved medieval centre and virtually intact Gallo-Roman walls, it is most famous for its iconic 24-hour race. Motorsports lovers the world over descend for a day (and night) of non-stop racing on the Circuit de la Sarthe.
This legendary track encompasses parts of the permanent Bugatti Circuit, but also spills out onto normal roads which get shut for the occasion. One local restaurant is even placed right by a straight which cars hurtle down at top speed before braking for the bend near the Golf des 4 Heures club in Mulsanne.
Also within the circuit are the Antarès events venue and La Sarthe Automobile Museum, open even when there is no racing. The name of the latter refers to the Sarthe River running through the city centre. Colourful, half-timbered buildings line its historic banks, and steps climb gentle hills in the old town.
More charming houses fill the streets surrounding impressive St Julian's Cathedral, started in the 11th century. The city history is detailed in the nearby Museum of Queen Bérengère, and the town hall is in part of the former Palace of the Counts of Maine.
Booking.com’s Le Mans accommodation includes hotels with pools, cheap guest houses, and apartments near the train station.
A large city with useful selection of shops. The highlight was our visit to the historic, Plantagenet quarter and the two town centre museums (free entrance.) Good selection of restaurants for all budgets. For a bit of pre-Christmas cheer it was ideal. A walkable town centre with a good tram service which goes as far as the 24 hour race Track.

Fantastic location in the old town.
Fantastic location in the old town. Architecture is simply stunning and has to be seen to be believed. No where else quite like it. Lovely restaurants and bars a stones throw. People are lovely and friendly. Great weather. The annual Summer evening light projections / show are superb. Lots to also explore and enjoy in main centre. A drink in the square people watching is a good way to spend an hour or two. Our 2nd time back in ten years to stay with Brigitte. We will be returning!

The room for people with disabilities was accessed from outside at the opposite end of the building from the disabled parking and the restaurant. A 200 metre walk in the cold, dark and rain was hardly "accessible".

Le Mans offers much more than the 24h car race, the old town on the hill is very beautiful. Of course, another impressive cathedral - don't miss it. And also don't miss to have Crepes and Galettes ;-)

Really lovely hotel, rooms were great, good size and lots of added extras, like free soft drinks in room, nice toiletries and slippers etc. Staff were very helpful and really friendly. Only downside was that the restaurant was not open when we stayed but the staff advised us where we could eat locally.
The hotel was small but with a lovely garden, clean and comfortable rooms and two electrical charge points which was was huge bonus as we arrived by electric car. The member of staff on reception was polite, friendly and helpful and spoke English as well as French. The location of the hotel was also great with a 35 minute walk into the old town of Le Mans. There was a plug socket and two USB ports next to the bed which was perfect for us. We didn't take breakfast so we cannot comment on the breakfast or bar.
Lovely spacious apartments. Three bedrooms, huge living room, fully equipped kitchen. Perfect cleanliness. Fast internet. Large balcony overlooking the sunset. Quiet place. The race track is 10 minutes by car. Parking right in front of the house. Several cafes nearby. I recommend the "Kouika Kebab": inexpensive and very tasty. Large grocery supermarket within walking distance. It is very easy to receive and leave the keys (a box with a code inside the mailbox).
I recommend!
Loved the location next to "Cite Plantagenet," an extraordinary Medieval "old town" filled with cobblestone streets and timbered buildings. We are architects and could not have asked for a nicer experience of staying in this extraordinary location. Parking was easy and the Host helped to carry our bags upstairs. Loved the big windows with great views! We had a delicious meal at "Le Fou du Roy" restaurant next door.
What an incredible experience we had at Le champ du Renee. Our hosts were so welcoming and wonderful. We came from California to see the Le Mans Grand Prix and our stay at Le champ du Renee was perfect. We were very comfortable and so well taken care of. The breakfast and food was exceptional and we enjoyed our time together. I would love to go back!
This hotel is in a fantastic location right in the centre of the old town, we didn’t have long in Le Mans so it was lovely to see the old parts that we did. Nice quirky decor done well on a bit of a budget, we really enjoyed our 1 night stay. loads of good restaurants and shops very nearby within walking distance.
This is the perfect location for the Le Mans circuit. We only wanted to visit the museum as it wasn't Le Mans time of year and, as a racing fan, I wanted to visit Le Mans on our way to Bordeaux. Our host was very personable and the breakfast basket full of bread and pastries was fabulous.
Excellent little hotel in centre of town. The lady on reception was marvellous. She was very helpful with getting us in/parked and helping to point out nearby restaurant areas for the evening. Breakfast was continental but plentiful and well worth the fee.
At the end of the day this is a budget hotel, the reception staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was small but we have three dogs and we’re very grateful they accepted them as we have been extremely badly let down by Kyriad Hotels in the past.
The owners were delightful. Breakfast was traditionally French & the attention to detail was lovely. Homemade jams & cake for breakfast. Location wise it was walkable to the old town & an ideal overnight stop for our journey from UK to SW France.
Overnight stop on way to southern france.ideal location from trip to le mans circuit, for main square, plenty of food and drink outlets. secure parking at 6 euros a day 100 yards from hotel
The location was perfect to go to Le Mans circuit as it's very close to the Tram station. It had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. The welcome gift was also a nice surprise!
Wonderful location next to the Cathederal and a short walk to restaurants and bars on old Le Mans. Very Comfortable and spacious room, good breakfast and friendly welcoming host.
The staff at this hotel are truly exceptional and very educated plus well mannered. Everything possible was done to make my stay at this hotel a pleasurable one.
Only stopped one night on our way to portugal and tea and coffee facilities in room which a lot of hotels in france do not offer, and good value for money.
