We did not eat breakfast at the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. Our purpose in staying was to visit Normandy, which was very close. For anyone going to Bayeux, we highly recommend seeing the Bayeux tapestry, which is a treasure.

The location was excellent for our purposes.
We did not take breakfast but did eat in the Courtepaille restaurant. It was a surprise to find the restaurant there as we thought the had all closed down. The food was as good as we remembered it.

This is an excellent hotel steeped in character. Sebastian and his brother were fantastic hosts. The town is currently undergoing major roadworks and it's a struggle to get round to the hotel. Sebastian sent me a map of how to get through and then when he heard our motorbikes he came out of the hotel and directed us through the barriers. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We ate in the restaurant, food and wine were excellent and good value. Service was second to none. I would definitely recommend and would definitely book again

Its location in a tiny and typical village far from the madding crowd makes for a very quiet stay, and it is but a few minutes drive to a restaurant (or an ATM, because the owner prefers cash). It is also possible to eat something on site, but the menu is limited. Breakfast is truly superb though.
Very spacious, neat, cosy and tastefully decorated rooms, a large, tranquil - and equally tasteful - garden, an extremely enthusiastic host who talks at the rapid-fire speed we all know from the French movies, and his superbly lovely and friendly wife (who speaks at normal speed) will guarantee you’ll regret you did not book for a few days extra. Recommended +++!
L’Hôme du Monde offers B&B accommodation in the centre of Bretteville-l’Orgueilleuse, a 15-minute drive from Caen and 30 minutes’ away from the D-day Landing Beaches.

Eric and his family have a gem of a property that they are painstakingly bringing back to life. Our room was basic but clean and comfortable. A beautiful rustic property in the countryside, but only 10 mins from Bayeaux and easy access to all the historic sights along the Normandy Coast. No alarm clock was necessary, as we were awoken by beautiful birdsong. Breakfast is served at the communal table in the kitchen and consists of homemade jams, bread and croissants served with excellent coffee and fresh orange juice.
