This was a rather lovely rustic-meets-Scandi-style bed and breakfast about fifteen minutes drive from Angoulême city centre. It was the perfect combination of quiet, countryside location with lovely walks, and handily placed for nipping into the city. Good breakfast, very friendly staff, and big, comfortable bed, with great quality linen.

Really nice studio apartment, with modern facilities. The host was waiting for us on arrival with the keys and a quick tour of the facilities.
A couple of cold beers in the fridge was a nice touch after a long day's drive.

There was no breakfast - not a problem because we were not expecting one. Host did leave coffee/tea/brioche buns and cold water, so this was welcome. We stayed at the height of the heatwave and Josee had done evrything she could to keep the accommodation as cool as possible, so this was greatly appreciated. the best thing was the stone floor downstairs which cooled you down from the feet upwards!
