Great for walking around and experiencing the town.
Great for walking around and experiencing the town. Never ate at the same restaurant twice and all meals were excellent. Just be a bit wary of some restaurants on lovely squares as they can have bumped up prices and food is just as good round the corner - and generally much better value. Easy to get around by tram, train and bus but dont forget to purchase a travel card as makes things much easier.

Nice and the surrounding area is fantastic, we have been going twice a year since 1996 - excellent public transport, buses and trains frequent and easy to use, as well as Uber and Bolt (very reasonable prices on both).
Do NOT just stay in Nice - visit Villefranche St Jean on Cap Ferrat, Eze, Monaco, Menton, Antibes, Cannes etc...they are all easy to get to.
Nice airport can be a bit of a poor experience if you are travelling later in the evening - all the food outlets seem to shut at 10pm.

Excellent place to stay when planning to discover French riviera. Grest public transportstion, expecially trams. Many things to do and to see. Perfect destination for travelling with children as well. Cheap train tickets for day trips to Monaco, Cannes etc. Very veautiful beach area, old town, hill with waterfall. Highly recommended to visit for relaxing holiday. It will be grest any season and any lenght. We have been last week in march - the weather was excellent, +22C, sunny. Honestly our 4 nights stay was really too short and I am planning already next trip.

The whole place was very clean and you could walk around at any time feeling safe. Food and drinks were well priced if you stay back from the front.
Train service was cheap and easy to use with trains always on time.
One to avoid is the new tram ticket system which was terrible we purchased a on-off ticket for a week at 50 euros but by error had entered the incorrect starting date which turned out to be the last day of our stay. We had trouble getting out of the tram station when arriving ion Nice as at that point we were unaware of the issue. Finally we got out and were directed to the main office of the sulkier which we waited 1/2 to see somebody only to be told there was nothing they could do. And to add we were not the only ones in the question with the same issue including locals. On our next visit we will avoid this and use the train system.

Beautiful beaches and city, and great proximity to the rest of the French Riviera. The bonus is the mountain towns which are a short drive and so much to explore up there as well. You can be in Italy in about an hour. Great location and spend at last a week to see it all!

Nice is ideal for a short city break of around three days as it is a relatively small city. I visited Nice in spring, and the weather was mild and sunny. Nice would appeal to those who enjoy holidays around enjoying architecture, good local cuisine, beaches and shopping.
10 out of 10 for everything. This was a last minute booking made when our flight was cancelled due to UK air traffic control issues. It exceeded expectations and was way nicer than the hotel we had booked for our original 2 night stay in Vence. Delighted with everything from the welcoming greeting on arrival, all the help given by staff, location, quality and cleanliness of the rooms and the wonderful bed linen. We could not have been happier and it actually made our stay in the south of France so much nicer and more memorable!
Only a couple of minutes walk due south from Nice Ville Station; so very convenient if using the train. Also only 15 minutes to a tram stop (Jean Médecin) that takes you to both airport terminals for a ridiculously cheap price. France's public transport shames the UK's expensive shambles.
The hotel was really nice. Excellent value. Very clean room and bathroom. Easy walk to any shopping, or the Promenade des Anglais, or joining up with American tourists getting ripped off in the Old Town.
The rooms were clean and very comfortable, we had a room with a balcony which was lovely to sit out on and watch the world go by. The staff are amazing and very helpful. Esther and Hannah on reception are a credit to this hotel, their customer service, friendliness and proffessionalism were outstanding, even better than any 5 star hotel I have ever stayed in.
The location excellent, in city, 10 minute walk down to beach and Nice old town and 5 minutes walk to station.
well, you need to know , you are booking cheap acomodation in center of NICE, remeber, you py for locality not for acomodation.
but you can survive. Look , is ok, you can sleep there, there is toilet and shower , and you are really really 5 steps from CENTER, OLD TOWN and 10 steps from beach. Soooo let say, dont expect 5 stars hotel for this money. as I write, for few days, amazing, becouse you save money for something else- amazing food forexample.
This is a Fab hotel with a wonderful roof-top pool, bar and restaurant - incredible views across the whole bay. Great service and food. It is worth paying the extra if you can for a room at the front with a sea view - going to sleep with the moon over the sea & waking up to a view across the Med is so restorative. It's a 45 minute stroll along the promenade to the Old Town of Nice but the trams also go regularly from behind the hotel & are v cheap.
Very chic property located on a quiet street in Nice. Walking distance to almost everything you need. Really felt like I was in France. The staff were so accommodating and pleasant. AC was most welcome. Good value for money and parking available at a reasonable cost.
Rooms are small but this didn’t bother me as it was just for one night, but if you travel with a lot of luggage this may not work for you. (Small room and no elevator)
Huge apartment in old Nice was my family’s favorite place we stayed at while we toured France. Our room was very clean and luxurious with awesome views of the waterfall and close to everything. The front desk exchanges money and had a better exchange rate than any of the other rates that I saw in town. The full kitchen and washing machine were awesome too. The rates were exceptionally good too!
-beautiful: LOVED my room. Both modern and classic, well kept, very clean. Had my own terrace which I spent the evening on, enjoying the perfect south of france weather
-location: great location. Close to the promenade/beach clubs, close to a bunch of restaurants, a 10 minute walk from the old town and famous market
-people: the people who work there were very sweet and accommodating
It is one of the best places I stayed in France. It's really in the heart of the city, train station, tram lines are on walking distance.
The hostel is beautiful, clean. Staff is nicer n helpful.
Bar, kitchenette is available. They have happy hour 6-8 pm ( haven't used it but it's mentioned) .
Rooms, bathrooms r clean. In short they maintain standard. I liked it. :)
Spacious, comfortable & clean. Large fully stocked kitchen and even had a Nespresso machine! The soft large bath towels were the best we had on our month long trip through France. Great location close to buses, trams & train station and all the Old Town attractions. We would definitely stay here again. You can’t go wrong with Chez Kari!
The hotel was close to the beach but far from the tourist spots (old town Nice). But it's okay because there's a bus station close to the hotel (2-3 minutes walk) which can take you to there. And for my plan, after I went to old town Nice I walked back to the hotels alongside the beach (around 1 km) and the view was breathtaking!
In the first place, I would single out the staff. I have never experienced such kindness and well done to both the hotel and France. Everything was perfect in the hotel. Best possible location. Breakfast is perfect and very varied. In this price range, I don't think anything could have been better.
The location of the hotel to old town Nice and the many restaurants and attractions. Also, the breakfast buffet provided a wide assortment of food to help us get the day started. The air conditioning was excellent given the average temperature was in the mid 80s to mid 90s.
Everything! Maurixio was a delightfully joyoys welcoming to Nice, France checking me in with white glove excellence. Quiten the waiter was charming and cheery and during my week stay anticipated a d remembered my name and favorite Latte's. I will return! !!!
the staff were wonderful. late check out, use of showers after check out too. breakfast was excellent - the best on our trip across the south of France.
hotel is well positioned for the airport and train station, the beach and good restaurants
standard of room (bed, airco, cleanliness was way above typical hotels in France including some 4 star hotels (!)
breakfast was very good, I really liked the watermelons and melons which were a very nice touch
Fabulous location overlooking Nice promenade/beach. Close to old town. Large terrace included with room.
Hotel recently renovated. Beautiful dining courtyard with pool area, Very effecicient staff.
