The largest city in the Champagne-Ardenne, Reims is inextricably linked with this region’s famous sparkling wine. In fact, the city’s symbol - its huge Gothic cathedral - has a window depicting the monk who invented champagne: Dom Perignon. This coronation cathedral of French kings for around a millennium also has stained-glass windows designed by Marc Chagall.
A mosaic detailing champagne production also features on an Art Nouveau building with a barrel-shaped door on Rue de Mars, next to the 17th-century city hall.
But it’s the Reims champagne houses that are stars of the show. Many big brands are headquartered here and some including Pommery and Taittinger offer cellar tours in their underground chalk caves. You can also visit Veuve-Clicquot by appointment. Of course, no tour would be complete without a champagne tasting session, so you may leave feeling a little heady.
As you’d expect of such a prestigious city, there’s no shortage of restaurants, bars and shops including Galeries Lafayette and the Espace d’Erlon shopping centre. Tree-lined Place d’Erlon is considered the heart of the city and is home to the Reims Christmas markets.
Paris Orly Airport is the closest, so chances are you’ll arrive by car. See Booking.com for a great range of Reims accommodation that include parking.
Nice city that can be toured in 1 full day. The main attraction is the Cathedral of Notre Dame. Make sure to take the Pommery tour champagne experience (no need to do Villa Demoiselle). Also make sure to visit the automobile museum. Have dinner or lunch around the Place Drouet d'Erlon (which is 5 min walk from the main train station). You can also visit the Basilique Saint-Remi (10 min walk away from Pommery).

A very good place to stay for Champagne lovers and to use as a base to explore the region and is not too far from Epernay by car or train. It also has some very fine examples of Art Deco and Art Nouveau architecture. The cathedral is not to be missed and the Crayères at Ruinart an UNESCO site

Reims is a beautiful city with a wonderful old quarter mainly around the magnificent cathedral. There are countless bars and restaurants from fast food to high end. The tram system is so easy to use. Plus there are the Champagne Houses with some marvellous wine tours.

Fabulous churches historic sites, and museums; walkable; excellent bus/tram system; easy access by train to regional towns. Great location from which to explore the Champagne region. Recommend 5-7 days stay.
Great hotel in the city center! We had a room at the 5th floor with the balcony facing inner court and Reims cathedral, stunning view! Very polite service, friendly staff. Big plus that you can park car at the hotel garage for 16 euro per night, so safe and secured parking accessible directly from hotel (just need to reserve in advance). Another benefit is inside swimming pool. Big hotel territory with a lot of facilities, inside court garden where you can have a drink.
Overall really enjoyed the stay and would come back again.
Staff was friendly, super charger was directly next to property, could use 1&2 more facilities outside on their huge property for kids but at least they had something already. Kids corner was cute, suggest that the amount of toys be reduced but have a more complete collection of each. Or else the toys are all mixed and incomplete sets, so nobody can really play with anything.
Breakfast was a bit of a wait, but the quality and selection was better than other Novotels we visited in France on this trip.
the hotel was immaculate and the room was comfortable and well laid out.
The closeness to the city centre was ideal, a short walk and you can cut through the station when it is open, when it is closed it’s still only adds an extra 5mins walk so not a problem.
The breakfast was great for my partner (not so great for me as a vegan though!)
Staff were helpful and friendly and the room was cleaned thoroughly daily. The tea and coffee selection in the room was great!
Quiet area. Very easy to get to by car and about 15 min walk to Reims city centre. The good thing is that the apart'hotel is just outside the low emission zone so could leave the car at the hotel and walk in. The staff was very nice and super helpful. The rooms were good enough for 1 night stay and we could cook our own food. We were 4 adults (grandparents, my wife and daughter and myself). The rooms had separate toilet showers, which was a massive plus.
Great welcome from english speaking receptionist(male with glasses), easy check in, compact but functional room, everything clean/spotless- credit to the cleaners!, room 409 3rd floor- quiet, lovely night of peacefull rest, secure gated parking, hotel is just off main routes around Reims- easy to get to, room costs us 67GBP, which is fair, breakfast was £20 for 2+1child, good choice of foods, again-exceptional cleaniness standards in breakfast room
We had a really nice overnight stay en route from Southern France to the UK. Communication with host about our late arrival time was excellent. What's so nice about the Sherpa Guest House is the personal Himalayan touch that permeates it. It feels like staying with a family rather than staying in a hotel. We did not take the breakfast but got pastries and quiches from the truly excellent boulangerie nearby.
Nice hotel on the outskirts of Reims - downtown Reims is about 15 mins by car. There are many reasonably priced car parks in central Reims and driving in wasn't a problem. There is a bus stop very close to the hotel taking you downtown but we didn't use it. We had a family room - it was a very good size, very clean, and very comfortable. The staff at reception was very welcoming and helpful. 10/10
The location is good , just about few minutes walk-about to the Notre-Dame, and city centre, and you can park your car in the public parking lot, a front of the hotel just cross over , for €4,- per day .that’s very cheap for France .
The room is okay, good big matras, but no coffee/the maker .
It’s fine hotel for this category.
The hotel was well located close to the main road past Reims but easy walking distance to nearby restaurants. The adjoining rooms were comfortable with air conditioning and good showers. The staff were friendly and helpful and there was a good range of food for breakfast which was kept topped up.
Nice little hotel near the center of Reims and the train station. Very friendly young man at the reception. The toilet is shared, there is a sink in the room. Wi-Fi is stable. Quiet enough. Very reasonable price. In general, it is good not only for Parisians.
The apartment has very nice location, you can get easily to the city centre. A parking spot was under the apartment windows. It was small but very convenient apartment with all necessary facilities.
Really nicely furbished apartment in a great location, both peaceful but walkable to the city centre, with an award winning bakery next door. Host was very responsive to messages.
It met our expectations 100%, very personable, comfy bed, very clean, good food and breakfast. It is very easy to find and was a great stopover on a journey across France.
The hotel is well located in easy reach of the centre of Reims, and near the autoroute. The rooms are clean and tidy and have everything that we needed.
I like the location and staff. It’s very good location. It’s easy to travel from hotel to the center or city around Reims. Staffs are nice and friendly.
