The Rive Sud is a beautiful family-run bed & breakfast in walking distance to the charming little town of Chinon. It is located near the bike route "la Loire à Vélo". All rooms are clean and tastefully decorated. We could leave our bicycles in safe shelter on the premises. Breakfast is lovely with homemade yogurt, fresh bread and viennoiseries. The hotel is in a very nice old historical building. It was amazing to read the history of this ancient residence started from the XIII century in the hotel book. We lived on the top attic floor, which we climbed up by magic internal compact spiral staircase that looked like an attached tower from the outside. There is a large parking lot behind the house where we put our car and very nice breakfast in the restaurant in the nearest building. The location turned out to be really very convenient for visiting castles. We visited 5 castles in 3 days :) The room had a bath and everything you need, even a teapot for evening tea after trips and heaters which is important for cold period. It was also ideal for us from the number of beds point of view, usually, it is very hard to find satisfactory rooms in hotels. So we really liked the hotel and the details of its history are just what you expect from heart of France. Thank you for a good vacation!

Warm welcome by friendly owners/ staff, great rooms with great views, everything very clean. Homemade food with a good spread of tasty sounding choices - we both had the lamb shank and it was excellent!! Stefan nd team going a great job ~ I will certainly stay there again, when next in the area.
We had such a wonderful warm welcome from Marielle and her communication was fantastic even before we arrived. Everything about our stay was perfect, from the rooms and bathrooms, to the delicious breakfast. It was great that Marielle allowed us to use the dining table to feed our children at in the evening rather than already needing to take them out to a restaurant. I would thoroughly recommend Rêves et Rivières to families. It was great to be able to visit the town of Chinon nearby which was a beautiful place to walk around with the kids.
