Check in was excellent with a very nice lassie showing us to our room. We were told where to safely stow the motorbike too. our room was spacious with a balcony and spotlessly clean. The bed was super comfortable, and the room was facing the shaded area so the lack of air conditioning was not an issue for our September visit. We never used it but the pool area looked nice. The garden area with tables under the trees was lovely and we enjoyed using it. Its mere steps from everything in town and was the cheapest accommodation of our European tour. If you want decent but don't mind a bit basic, you get excellent value for money with this place

Superb position between the magnificient cols of Izoard and Vars. Everything is clean enough, you get a decent room with bathroom at the price of a hostel; as minimalistic traveller as I am I would like to see more of these places around regions full of resorts, cottages and pricy hotels. Highly recommended!

I stayed overnight at La Pierre d'Oran while hiking the Via Francigena. It was a wonderful place to stay. My room was large and comfortable, with everything I needed. My host was friendly and welcoming, as well as helpful. The dinner that night was delicious and the conversation around the table was fun and interesting. Overall, this is an excellent place to stay for hikers and anyone visiting the region.

The hosts (Vim and Tom) were welcoming and made me feel right at home, and the home made breakfast and dinner were absolutely fantastic. The view down the river gorge and of the mountains were stunning and the facilities were excellent including a sauna, making for a truly relaxing and enjoyable stay. The whole place was beautifully decorated and the large spacious bathroom was a highlight for me. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a luxurious and peaceful getaway in the hills.
