This is a pretty Pays Basque village with a fabulous church...
This is a pretty Pays Basque village with a fabulous church at its centre (see my photos). It has all the usual French shops for bread, wine, cheese, pharmacy needs, plus several bars, cafes and restaurants. There is a large hypermarket half way between the village and the hotel, which includes a petrol station and a 24-hour (outdoor) launderette. The hotel is actually a few kilometres out of town but still in the "commune" of St Pee sur Nivelle. There are no facilities (hypermarkets, small shops, bars etc) in reasonable walking distance of the hotel, so you need transport. But the food and bar in the hotel is excellent, as are the staff.EricUnited Kingdom - 8.0Scored 8.0

Hilly in all directions leading down to the lake. Plenty of water facilities and restaurants plus only fifteen minutes from Spain if you fancy some smuggling. We will return to explore more and eat at Bizi Restaurant again.JimFrance

The breakfast is very good and the four-course dinner is superb. The location is charming, with a lovely large garden. The reception staff were super friendly and made us feel very welcome. We dined in the bistro and had a super evening meal for a very reasonable price. The service was great.
